Lamek Pottinger Diemert Franzer

THE REV. JOHN E. LAMEK FUNERAL TO BE FRIDAY

Funeral services for the Rev. John E. Lamek, former assistant pastor at St. Adalbert Catholic Church, who died yesterday of complications at Incarnate Word Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery.

Father Lamek, 46 years old, was forced by illness to retire a year ago and since then lived at the home of relatives at 5832 Pamplin avenue. Ordained in 1931 at Kenrick Seminary, he served as assistant pastor at Sacred Heart Catholic Church adn Immaculate Conception Catholic Church here, the Sacred Heart Church, Festus, and as chaplain of Incarnate Word Hospital.

Survivors are four sisters, Miss Mae Lamek, Mrs. Rose Pottinger, Mrs. Frances Diemert and Mrs. Raymond Franzer.

Byrns Carmody

DR. R. EMMETT BYRNS FUNERAL TO BE FRIDAY

Funeral services for Dr. R. Emmett Byrns, who practiced medicine in North St. Louis for 35 years, will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Most Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 2047 East Grand avenue, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.

Dr. Byrns died of a heart attack Monday while vacationing in Chicago. He was 68 years old and lived at 3804 North Grand boulevard. He attended Washington University and received his medical training at old ------- Medical Collage here. During World War I, he served overseas as a major.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Virginia Byrns, and a daughter, Mrs. Leonard Carmody. The body is at hermann undertaking establishment, 2161 East Fair avenue.
