I am looking for information on the Daniel B. Bailey family from Dade Co, MO. He was b. 1825 in KY and d. 1908 in Greenfield, MO. He married abt. 1849 KY to Mary Elnor McMillin d/o Patrick Keenan & Mary (Long) McMillin. Daniel B. McMillin was a stock-trader, farmer, served in the Civil War on the Union side, was a Methodist. His children were: Louisa J. m.____ Barber; Mary E.; William L. m/1 Maud_____ m/2 Alice E. Garrett; Elvira B. (Vida) m. Dr. Z. T. Martin; Martha E. (Mattie) m. Harvey Newton Robertson. My ggrandfather was ALFRED SPIDELL, and married SUSANNA A. DILL, I CAN FIND NOTHING AFTER 1880...ON HER, ALSO CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING ON WHO ALFRED SPIDELL'S PARENTS WERE AND WHERE THEY CAME FROM. William and Mary Campbell moved from Iowa in 1867 to Cedar County Missouri then to near Parsons, Labette County, Kansas in 1869 then back to Dade County in about 1881. They settled near the town of Crisp. They had several children, one was Martin Henry Campbell. Martin was Greenfield city Marshal, shortly after the turn of the Century. He married Sarah Catherine Crisp. She died in 1917 and he remarried in 1921 to Clara Boyd. Martin's 1942 obituary states that his living children were Mrs Ralph Higgins, Springfield, Harve Campbell, Los Angeles, CA, Clifford Campbell of Kansas City, and Martin H. Campbell a flight instructor in Philadelphia, PA. Martin had another child with Clara in Carthage, his name was Gene Campbell. William and Mary had 8 other children, Thomas Campbell, Ulyses Grant Campbell, Morris Campbell, Edward Campbell, Lora Campbell Hill, William Campbell, Leroy Campbell, James B. Campbell. William, Mary, and most of the children moved to Montana about 1900. I would be interested in hearing from any related or interested parties. Kim Morris.

PEYTON BENNETT born in AL and wife MARGARET BODINE born in TN. Their 8 children , born in TN, were James M. b. 4-30-1823; John b. 1825: Andrew b. 11-24-1826; Eli; Margaret b. 1831; Mary Jane b. 1832; and Matilda. Some of the family came to Dade Co. Missouri in 1880's. Were the Bennett's Cherokee Indians?

Does any one know if any of the Hampton's that lived in Dade county during the Civil War were members of Quantrill's Raiders? There are seven Hamptons listed as members of Quantrill's band , most of them with just intials. There does not seem to be much information on which part of Missouri they came from. HAMPTON I saw posted on a web site devoted to Dade County history a list of early pioneers and settlers of Dade County. One of the pioneers listed was a William(Uncle Billy) HAMPTON. The post stated that he settled 3 miles west of Greenfield by 1835. Does anyone have any more information on him?
