I have an Alexander Williams in Daviess County ca 1866-1879. Most of the records are lost for that time period. He was born in KY 1806, his wife was Amy born OH 1806. They lived in DesMoines Co, IA 1836-1847, Monroe Co, IA 1850-1864,Buchanan Co, MO 1870. They had a son Reuben Carter Williams born1844 Burlington, IA died 1888 Seneca, KS buried Pattonsburg, Daviess Co, MO. I don't know of any other children. Can anyone help me? I think I have looked at everything I can for Daviess

I am researching the stout and tracy families who farmed in the gallatian area during the 1860s,70,80,and part of the 90s. The family of hiram stout was located in the 1870 and 1880 census of daviess county and my wifes grandfather george stout, was living with his uncle at that time. His uncle was hiram tracy. George stout married the daughter of a neighbor Eliijah Tracy who was my wifes ggf. The daughter's name was lavina. Any info would be apprec. Marriage record for lavina tracy and georgr stout found in the gallitan records.

Looking for information on the family of my grandmother, Roe Mae PUGH, born in Gallatin, MO 30 April 1887. Mother is Catherine Ann THOMPSON, b. c1856. I am looking for information on Henry F. and Sarah (Robeson) McNeely (married 1851 Franklin County, Indiana). They came to Daviess County, Missouri in the 1870's. On the 1880 census, they were living in Grand River. Henry may have been a brother or cousin to my ancestor Robert McNeely. I would like to exchange information with their descendants. An Uncle-in-law of my husband`s died childless about a year ago. I took care of him the last 3 years of his life and he died at age 99. He left a big box of pictures and a Family Bible that had belonged to his Grandparents. Mostly the people all seem to be from in or around Daviess Co. I will mail any of this to anyone who is a family member. The main families are TERRY, LANDES, KEMP, MOORE, COURTNEY & OLIN JONES. The Bible is the Family Bible of MARY ANN MOORE m. ADMIRAL A. I am interested in any information on the PLACE family. The PLACE family moved to Gallatin, Daviess County, Missouri from Porter Township, Delaware County, Ohio. The beginning of my direct line was William H. PLACE who was married to Joanna PRYOR. William came to Gallatin between 1830 and 1840. His brother Peleg PLACE came to Gallatin between 1840 and 1850. One of Peleg's notable descendants was P. M. PLACE WHO STARTED THE PLACE'S DEPARTMENT STORES.
Among William's children was Francis Asberry PLACE. Francis had a son named Richard Joseph PLACE. Richard had a son named Walter PLACE. Walter's only son was named Thomas Richard PLACE, Sr. Tom PLACE was my grandfather. All these individuals lived in Gallatin, Daviess County, Missouri.
Anyone having information on any of the PLACES please contact me. I am always happy to share my information, and greatful to receive any information.

I am seeking the identity of the ancestors of Sarah P. CLANTON (1811-1879). Sarah was the wife of Jacob A. BROWN (1809-1875). I am also seeking information about the ancestors of Elizabeth HADLEY (1780-1846). Elizabeth was the wife of Moses BROWN (1778-1843). All of the above individuals are buried in Harrison Co MO. I believe they had descendants who lived in Harrison, Daviess, and Grundy Co MO.

I am searching for GRIFFITHs in Daviess County, 1872-1899. John Pierson, Nancy, his mother, 2 brothers and one sister came to Daviess Co. from Hendricks Co ., IN. John Pierson married Hester Kembrell, who was also living in Daviess Co. at the time. In 1899 they moved to Livingston Co.. They both died in Livingston Co. I would love to hear from anyone with any thing on this family.

I am reshearching my ggf Hebert Hugh O'Hare who settled in Daviess County sometime around the civil war.He was born in Ohio in 1830. He married Sarah A Rogers in 1861 some where around Jameson Mo.They are both buried in Hickory Creek Cemertier,along with several of their children. My great uncle Martin Harvey,his Brother and some of hi family is also buried there.

I am seeking information on John W. And Susan Blakely and their six children, Thomas , James, Mary, Martha, John and William. I found them in the 1850 Daviess County Census. John W was born in Kentucky, his wife Susan was born in Virginia. Thomas M. the oldest born circa 1830, was born in Kinetucky, I believe to be my great-great-grandfather. James the next oldest was also born in Kentucky. The other four were all born in Missouri.

Their daughter Maggie Jane Egbert married my grandfather Martin Harvey O'Hare. in Daviess County Mo. Martin and Maggie Jane's youngest son frank Keith O'Hare is my Father. Any and all information on the Egbert and Splawn would be greatly appreciated. George Egbert came to Daviess County MO after the C.W.fron Indiana someplace. I do not know where The Splawn family came from,But I sure would like to know.The Splawn settled in the Crab Orchard area.
