Martha Scott, actress and producer, was born in Jamesport, Missouri on September 22, 1912. She was a daughter of Walter A. Scott (1890 - 1975) and Letha McKinley (1891 - 1970). After graduation from college she had roles in broadway shows, more than 89 movies and on television. She appeared in such films as The Howards of Virginia, The Desperate Hours, The Ten Commandments, Ben-Hur, Airport 1975 and The Turning Point. In both The Ten Commandments and Ben-Hur, she played Charlton Heston's mother. The image below shows the back of her gravestone in Masonic Cemetery, Jamesport.
