James "Jim" Mims, the son of the late David Roy & Wilma B.
Hess ~ Mims, was born in Parma on April 4, 1947, & passed away
at the John Cochran V. A. Medical Center in St. Louis on
September 24, 2000, at the age of 53 years.
Mims had lived in the Southeast Missouri area
most of his life & had lived in Malden, Missouri the past
several years.
He had served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War &
was amember of the Malden VFW.
Surviving are one son, James Williams Mims of
Clarksville, Tenn.; one daughter, Jennifer Binz of House
Springs, MO.; eight brothers, Melvin & David Mims Jr. of Parma,
MO.; Manuel & Lee Mims of Malden, MO.; Wayne Mims of New
Madrid, MO.; Everett & Jerry Mims of Dexter, MO.; & Ronald Mims
of Bernie, MO; & three sister, Elaine Brooks of Dexter, MO.;
Reba Ezell of Malden, MO.; & Lily Ervin of Catron, Mo.; two
grandchildren also survive. Other relatives & friends also
survive.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Lee Mims;
one sister, Barbara Yarbourgh; & one brother, Jeff Lynn Mims.
Visitation was held Tuesday, September 26, 2000,
from 5-8 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter,
MO..
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 27,
2000, at 11.a.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with
Rev. Ronnie Parker of Essex, MO., officiating. Interment
followed in the Parma Cemetery in Parma, MO., with Watkins &
Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
