Color Guard at El Camino Real Marker

Pictured here is the MOSSAR Color Guard team alond with Chapter Historical Officer Becky Osbourn who presented the history of the markers at the Rededication of the El Camino Real Marker in Kimmswick, MO on Sunday, October 19th, 2008. The granite marker, alonsg with ones located in New Madrid, Cape Girardeau, and Ste. Genevieve were installed by the Missouri Daughters of the American Revolution in 1917. Flooding problems, as well as the installation of athletic fields and parking in the vicinity put the marker at Kimmswick at risk. It was decided to move the marker approximately 1/4 mile east to a locatin in Jefferson Square park, where it is much more visible and protected from flooding.
