Rev. John T. Davis, a Southern Methodist minister was enumerated with his family in Burbois Township, Gasconade County in 1860. His wife at that time was William Ann McFarland, widow of Thomas Spenser. John and William Ann were married in Crawford County in 1856. Chuck Davis, 2359 S. Researching The CANTLEY FAMILY who lived in Bland, MO. A daughter Maria, married Henry Powell. I would like to know the name of Mariah Cantley's father. Mariah Cantley Powell moved to Kansas after her marriage. She went to Kansas in a covered wagon about 1875 the first time. She moved back to Missouri around Mt. Grove and then moved back to Kansas around 1920. She died and was buried in Meade, KS in 1954.
I am trying to find out about my Cramer family that is said to have come from Missouri prior to settling in Idaho. Wife Mary (Maria) Wolf, she was born PA according to 1850 census TX. James SR. went to TX with S. Austin, died there 1826, Son James was in MO legislature, I believe 1826, then went to TX. Md Nancy Eads dau of John and Nancy Simpson Eads, James died 1836 TX. Friedrich SIEBRASS (b. 7-25-1829 in Hanover, Germany)came to US in 1852 and first settled in Washington, MO. He married Johanna DI(E)CKMANN (b. 11-8-1832 in Steinhagen-Kreis Halla, Prussia) in Washington, MO in 1857. (I also have info that there were already DICKMANNS in Washington, MO when Johanna came there.) They moved to Gasconade Cty in 1860 and onto Blue Hill, NE in March 1882. I am looking for any information about a Charles Sylvester Jett in the Bland / Canaan area in the 1920's - 1930's. My grandfather (C. S. Jett) was a mail carrier on RFD 1 on Gasconade County during this period, and also operated a general store in this area.
Could someone check land records and see when the Hoehn family first purchased land? I'm looking for husband of Margrette Hoehn. Her sons were Nicholas Frederick, John Paul, John Henry and Charles. Think they settled about 1830-35.

Looking for information on the ESTES family who settled in Gasconade about 1819. James ESTES and Hugh ESTES are listed on early census records. There was also John, William, Sally, Elizabeth and Jane. Some of the family moved to Callaway Co. John owned property in both counties and seems to have lived on both sides of the river. STARKEY, Joel. The Gasconade County Court was first held at Joel's home during the early years. Sometime after the "great flood" he removed to Madison Co., TN. Some members of his family remained behind and others went into IL, TN, etc. I believe that his wife JANE JACKSON STARKEY, died in Gasconade before he left. Where is she buried and what was the date of her death? Does anyone have a complete list of their children? I am looking for descendents of Uriah and Hannah Hurst who moved to Gasconade Co. Mo. from Cooke Co. Tn. sometime between 1830 and 1832. Their children were Daniel, Sara P., Job, James, Ruthy and Elizabeth.
I found the oldest son Daniel with wife Sally Davis and family in the 1850 & 60 census. James married Malinda Davis in 1850 in Franklin Co. and went by wagon train to Oregon in the spring of 1851, these are my great-great grandparents.
Uriah apparently died between 1840 & 50. Hannah with Job listed as farmhand on the farm of John Davis & wife Elizbeth (youngest daughter of Uriah & Hannah?) in 1860 census. According to the 1850 census my g grandfather and grandmother lived in Gasconade County, Missouri. I would like to know if there is anyone who might have some info on them. In 1850 my g grandparents JAMES HURST and MLINDA DAVIS WERE MARRIED. In my records it shows that James was born about 1831 and Malinda was born about 1834. I believe James ws born in Tennessee and Malinda was born in Missouri. In about 1852 these two came to Oregon. Does anybody have any info on who the parents and siblings were of this couple. I know absolutely nothing more about them. My g grandfathers surname has been spelled HURST, HERST, HEARST. I would appreciate anything that you might have on them.

Seeking information about the Johnson Plantation Home.
It was reported to be located "on the Gasconade bottomland meadow in Section 2 of Township 39 North, Range 9 West, on the west side of the Gasconade approximately 1 1/2 miles upstream (south) of the Highway 63 bridge on road from Rolla to Jefferson City." This description was supplied by C.V. Mann notes on Rev. John Miscal Johnson, interred on Jan. 30, 1874 with wife Mary E. (Clements) in the Bloom Garden Cemetery, adjoining the plantation. Any information related to this home and the Johnson family of the period, in particular Thomas Jefferson Johnson (d. Nov. 5, 1855), father of John Miscal, would be greatly appreciated. Edmund ANDERSON is listed as residing in Gasconade County in 1819. He married Anna Pear BOULWARE in 1814. Their children included Thomas, James, and Jane Eleanor. In the 1830 census, Edmund was in St. Johns Towship of Franklin County. I am interested in the ANDERSON and BOULWARE families in this time and place. Also, Edmund's son Thomas married a Letha Narcissus FOEGUSON (or Farquarson or Fourquron or Ferguson--we have various spellings) who was born in Virgina. I would love to find correct spelling of this name and something about the family. I believe Letha's mother was named Nancy and was born in Virginia in 1785. Thanks.
Frederick August Hain was born December 26, 1830 in Breslau, Germany. It is now know what year he came to the states. He died February 27, 1918 in Rosebud, Missouri. Frederick August Hain married January 4, 1861 to Rebecca Hollandsworth, a daughter of Isam Marion Hollandsworth and Nancy Newcomb. Rebecca was born February 19, 1842 and died April 9, 1892. They had the following children:
1. Pauline Hain born about 1861
2. Ida Bertha Hain born October 1865, died October 1888. She married March 4, 1883 to Francis Sylvester Rose.
3. Ernest Hain born around 1866
4. Lydia Ann Hain born August 26, 1869, died October 2, 1962. Married January 9, 1890 to Joseph Kosark.

The family was found on 1830 Gasconade Co. Census where Hugh was listed as a cabinet maker. The family moved to Hopkins Co., Texas about 1845. They lived at Nelta, Texas until their deaths. My ancestor Perrey landed in New Orleans, some time after June in 1846, and the company then took a Riverboat to St. Louis, then turned left along the Missouri River, past New Haven and to the site of Bonnot's Mill. STITES: My maiden name.... have our lineage back to John Stites, b. ca 1760-70 in NY. He came to MO about 1814/6 with son, David Stites, who was a minister in Gasconade Co.. He married many couples, and was active in starting many churches... He later when to SW Missouri, but not before he had many children, and outlived two wives, and was married to a third one before his death. I descend from John Stites, Sr.'s son, Joel Stites who m. Catherine Decker, ca 1829 in Franklin Co... but the descendants mainly lived in Gasconade Co.
DYSON: Would like to hear from all Dyson's. My gggg grandfather, Wm Dyson came to MO...as well as his son Thomas. Thomas & wife, Anna Roby, came from NC to Franklin Co, 6 of his sons were in the Confederacy... a couple of them married & had children before going to war... but only one survived, Manless Dyson. Looking for information on the Woollam's of Gasconade County. There was a Bartholomew Woolam(various spellings) in the 1790 SC census. In the early 1800s he and his sons moved to the St Louis area. Three of his sons served in the Illinois militias during the war of 1812, but, I have been told that their names appeared on Missouri public records as well as Illinois. These Gasconade County are the first I have seen of the family name with your area.

Looking for anyone that is researching the Luhring name. I have two G-G-Grandmothers that were both Luhrings from Husum, Hannover, Germany. There were many Gasconade County Immigrants from Hannover and several of my family names originated in Husum, including: Block, Homeyer, Luhring, Kolkmeyer, etc. There was a family of Luhrings that lived in Gasconade County and I think that the father that came over first was the Conrad Luhring B. Aug. 23, 1834 D. 1891, Buried at Salel Lutheran Cemetery at the intersection of Highway V and T between Owensville and Rosebud. Thereare 7 Luhrings that are buried at this cemetery, and all of them are unknown to me. I feel certain that they are related in one way or another. According to my father, he visited three Luhring Ladies when he was a child, supposedly spinsters (possibly widows) that lived on what is now 'Pump House Road' on Highway V out of Rosebud. There are also Luhrings that are buried at St. John's U.C.C. in Swiss, MO that are probably related to this Conrad Luhring.Any help would be appreciated.

Trying to find info on family of Henry J. STEPHENS b. 22 March 1836 in NC; m. 7 Feb 1861 in Gasconade, MO to Louisa SULLIVAN, dau. of Frank SULLIVAN & Lucy HOLT. Henry d. 10 May 1899 in Franklin Co., MO. He & Louisa had 5 sons & 3 daus. Trying to find out who Henry's parents/siblings were. Any help appreciated.

I have been in contact with a man from Germany who has Mestemacher connections in his family tree. He is interested in finding out more about the Mestemacher family that came over.
My G-Grandfather, Conrad Block, came over and resided in Gasconade County. We still own the original farm which is situated between Owensville and Rosebud near the now near extinct village of Tea. We have always referred to the property that is directly west of our property as the Mestemacher place, and I am wondering whether or not youmight have information on the Mestemachers in any of your information. My family lines in Gasconade County are as follows: Block, Ahring, Luhring, Sander, Homeier, Homeyer. Mostly Swiss, Tea, Drake area.
