Surname: SCHULTE
J. Henry Schulte born March 5,1838 Hanover,Prussia. Immigrated to Gasconade County about 1855. Have naturalization papers from Gasconade dated 3-13-1860. He was listed on the Gasconade 1860 census as working for a William Dallemeyer in the Woollam District of 3rd Creek township. Believe he was the brother of Anna Enke (Mrs Gottfried) also on the 1860 census. Henry first married sometime in the early 1860 to a widow of a Bernd Renne, Etha. In 1880 he married Johanna Tomaeschke Bohle the widow of Herman Bohle of Gasconade. Several children were born to both of these marriages, and I have a lot of material and information about this family. After his first marriage to Etha Renne, he moved to a farm in Osage County, in the Cooper Hill area, but was still connected to the Woolman Church District. He died on Oct 1, 1925 and is buried in the St. Pauls Evangical Church Cemetery in Cooper Hill. I want to find his home village in Germany and need to know the ship that he came over on. I would like immigration and ship records if you have them in your file. Also need a marriage record for Etha Renne and Henry Schulte. I have his other marriage lic. to Johanna Tomaechke Bohle. I know that there were several persons by the name of Henry Schulte in Gasocnade and Osage County but they were not related to the J. Henry that I am researching. I do believe that he probably came by the way of New Orelans. Have not been able to locate any immigration or ships records. I also know that Henry Schulte was a very popular name, and the last time I counted there were other families by this name and their descendants.

Surname: HELBERT, MAUME, DAVIS, BRANSON, VARBLE
George Frederick HELBERT b 1812 or 1818 in Germany (Hannover? Hesse?), came to NY where he worked as a gardener, married an Irish widow nee Mary Maume, widow of John Murphy, and came to Gasconade Co MO in the mid 1850's.They settled on a farm in the Mount Sterling area (Third Creek /Boulware). George was buried Feb 1890 on his farm, listed in the Gasconade Co Cemetery survey. Mary is probably in the unmarked grave at his side. I would like to know when she died! I believe the family was Catholic. Would like help locating any records that may exist with area churches.George raised my ancestor, Mary's son John Thomas Murphy, as John HELBERT. He was the second husband of HANNAH MINERVA BRANSON widow of Perry Davis.During the Civil War, George HELBERT's neighbor, by the name of BUDDE, was hanged. The two families' children must have played together ...The only known descendants of Helbert would be through dau MARY who married GEORGE VARBLE. That line has descendants in AZ. Helbert's only son died unmarried.Any help with Catholic records? Does anyone have anything on HELBERT, BUDDE or VARBLE? I'd like to hear from anyone with any related search.
PERRY D. DAVIS
and I would very much like to know anything you can find about him. Perry was the first husband of my ancestor HANNAH MINERVA BRANSON dau of David Branson and Sally (Sarah) David. Hannah's mother died at childbirth or when Hannah was an infant. David remarried Elizabeth Campbell, "widow Hawkins." So I have all that, and I have the marriage records. What I don't have is PERRY'S FAMILY, PERRY DAVIS's BIRTH and DEATH, and what his Civil War service was (why was he known as "Commandant"???? strange title for an American surely ...) Nor do I know PERRY DAVIS's FIRST WIFE and any children by her.
I'm researching VANDERGRIFT, MCGOWN, BRANSON, HOLT

They would have emigrated to the USA from Germany in the late 1850's, and settled in Gasconade County. Does anyone know their surname? Any information would be greatly appreciated. I will gladly share what I know.
Surname: POSEY, CAMPBELL
Leeaiden POSEY and Sarah WATSON CAMPBELL were married 30 March 1838 in Gasconade Co, MO. They continued to live in Gasconade Co until abt 1846 when they migrated to TX. I'm seeking information on Sarah's first husband, Mr. Campbell. Sarah was a widow with five children (Nancy, Lydia, John, Joseph, and Martha) when she married Leeaiden. Census records indicate that Sarah and her husband lived in TN prior to moving to MO. What was her first husband's full name and where was he from??

Surname: BEUERMAN, THOFERN
Looking for information about the family--especially ancestors-- of Ludwig BEUERMAN and his wife, Wilhelmina THOFERN. Ludwig was born in 1788 in Hanover, Germany and died about 1869 in Gasconade County. Wilhelmina was born in 1793, also in Hanover, Germany. She died about 1861, place unknown, but probably Gasconade County. Ludwig and Wilhelmina were married in Germany about 1830. While in Germany, they had at least two children: Julius, born in 1833; and Ludwig (Lewis), born in 1838. The family emigrated to the US in 1838, settling in Gasconade County. After their arrival, Ludwig and Wilhelmina had at least one more child: Wilhelmina, born in 1841. Ludwig's will (recorded in December 1869) also mentions a daughter, Ernestine, and a step-daughter, Sophia Schneider. The 1860 U. S. census shows the family in Roark Township and carries the notation that Wilhelmina (the wife) was "insane." Son Julius is the subject of a biographical sketch in the 1888 history of Gasconade County. It states that Ludwig served under Napoleon in his Russian campaign.
Surname: SMITH, BURMGARNER,
I am looking for any info on Benjamen Franklin Smith who was married to Elizabeth Bumgarner. They were from Pennsylvania. I don't know if they married there and then moved or viceversa. I know he was born in 1820 and that all of their children were born in Gasconade or Franklin Counties. The kids were Martha Louisa, 1841, Rebecca Jane,1844, Eliza Matilda,1848, John Albert,1852 and Horace Greeley,1854. There is also some question about the branch they married. Samuel Hutton born 1798 in Kentucky and died in Franklin County is suppose to be the father of Margaret Hutton born Sept. 11,1833 in Franklin County. Some in the family say her dad was Charles Hutton. Either way her mother is suppose to be Cherokee but I don't have a name. Margaret married John M. Caldwell November 22,1853 either in Gasconade or Franklin County.
