Local Board,
Dear Sir, I live in the extream edge of washington co. my two boy's are in the Army service and I am proud to have them there to do what they can to help make Amarica safe for us all. my one son inlisted as soon as he found he was to be drafted. my other son had a garage buisness in St. Clair mo. he bought a large set of Garage tools' for more than $1,500. he had them partly payed for he did not ask for any deferment, and lost his place of buisness and let his toos' go back, what burn's me up is the number of men that live near me that do not want to do there part in helping lick the enmy. theres' Cletes John mercer better known as Pete mercer, he married after the first draft, has one baby a year old last spring another one born lately,, he do'es not make a home for his wife and baby's seldom ever stays' with her she has to live eather with her mother or his mother she would be better of with him in the Army. may be the army could make a man of him, he's not mean but just doe'sent care. then theres' James Studdard he has no children, he's fruttering a little at ever thing not war work, Eugene T'arrow he never farmed a day in his life until his folk's did not want him to go to the Army. there's other's, that need to help win this war. I do not like to see any one go. but some boy's and men have gone that have been good worker's, why not take the deferer's and slacker's,
Respectfuly,
Mrs Schoonover.
