I'm researching Nicholas Walker Chamlee, B. Aug.15, 1855 in Tenn. D. Jan. 17, 1929 in Tulsa, Okla. He married Celia Rebecca Cook, B.March 12, 1862 in Greene Co., Mo. They married Jan.27, 1880 in MO. Celia died Jan 22, 1940 in Springfield, Mo. Both are buried at Clear Creek Cemetery. They had 5 children, Eva, Everett, James, Effie, and Willie(died at birth).

My 2nd g-grandfather John Laney migrated to Pond Creek Twp., Greene Co. from Greene Co., TN is 1839. He married first Sophia Garoutte, daughter of Samuel and Jane Reynolds Garoutte. In 1863, he married Elizabeth Hampton. John raised a very large family in Pond Creek. John's parent Ephraim and Margaret Millery Laney migrated to Pond Creek also, as well as many of his siblings.

Searching for parents and siblings of David Potter, b. 1819 NC/TN; m. Elizabeth Gold(en) b. NC about 1823. I can find no marriage record for them, but they sold land as man & wife in Greene Co. MO in 1840. Their children, all born in Greene Co., were Rebecca Jane (m. Charles Switzer and Charles Drager), Margarete (m. Alex Zellweger), Columbus, James (m. Etta White), William, Daniel (m. Fannie), Marcellus, and Florell (m. R.F. Holloway). David and Elizabeth died and are buried in Springfield. Have not been able to find their route from NC to MO and would appreciate any leads as to the group they probably moved with and who their parents and siblings were.

Nathan Slay, his wife Nancy Wells, and children moved to Greene Co., MO, from Searcy Co., AR, in Civil War timeframe. His wife died and he remarried Martha Ann Snow. Nathan Slay died in Greene Co., MO, in 1864. Both his father and grandfather, Thomas Slay Sr. and Jr. fought in Rev. War in NC/SC. Five of Nathan's sons fought for the Union, three died. Daughter Sarah Melissa married John Arnold. Kessiah died in 1871 and William married Amanda Elliott Bowen, after her death he married Mary Williams in Greene Co.
