Isaac and Sarah Jane were married 1878, Brookline, MO. Susan Thompson? Gardner, age 77 (b. about 1836), and James Thompson, age 54 (b. about 1859), both of Ozark, RR#2, Christian Co. (prev. Greene Co.), MO., were present at marriage of Isaac and Sarah J., 1878, Brookline, MO. Affidavit sworn in Nixa, MO, 1913. Alice Hise Porter, b.1880, and Ethel Hise Woolsey, b.1890, daus. of Isaac and Sarah J., of Webb City, MO in 1913. Marie Allbright, age 52(50?) and Rebecca J. Brannon, age 63, both of Joplin, MO in 1913, have known I. and S.J. Hise for 14-15 years. Present at birth of children Irene and Gladys Hise, 1900 and 1904. H.B. Young and Grant Emerson, both of Joplin, MO in 1907. Knew I.Hise 8 and 5 yrs, respectively. J.M. Long, age 63, and Charles Cope, age 73, both of Webb City in 1913.

I am searching for my great uncle, B.M. Larkins and family family who were living in Springfield, Greene Co., MO. in 1910. B. M. Larkins was born about 1860 in MO., married Haddie______(?) b. abt. 1864 and they had these children: Lloyd b., 1898, (printing on census record was bad for next two names) , Kath B., a son, born about 1900 and Cary a daughter born about 1904. B.M. was the brother of Martha Caroline Larkins Layton who died in 1915, MO. They were the children of Jeff Larkins of KY. Any help with the B.M. Larkins family would be greatly appreciated.

James and Laura McKinney and family; and Benjamin and Melvina Thompson and family, all lived in Greene county, Missouri, after the Civil War. Melvina McKinney, daughter or James and Laura, married Benjamin F. Thompson. I believe they later moved to the Oklahoma territory and then to Easton or Potter, Kansas. Any McKinney relatives out there?

I am trying to locate information about Lydia Caroline Kelley, b. May 5, 1854 in Greene Co. MO. Her parents were James Samuel Kelley and Delilah Rowden Kelley. She died in 1919 in this area. I have no date for his death. Lydia Caroline married William Smith Adams. Any help locating this information would be greatly appreciated.

For a time, the family of John Thornburgh, Jr., resided in Greene county, Missouri, prior to the Civil War. Her name was Rachel Preston Thornburgh. Also, interested in other family members of Morgan Preston and Moses Thomson. Thornburghs were from Tennessee and Prestons from Kentucky,. I am seeking information on James Amos McConnell and his wife, Nina Knox who were married in Springfield or in Greene County ca 1840-45. Their children were: John, Clint, Henry, Cieph, George, and Mitt. A family story says that the Knox family discovered a cavern on their farm and this cavern is open to the public today. George Harland McConnell, my great grandfather, was born January 18, 1850 in Springfield. He married Harriet Matilda O'Donnell in 1883 after he moved to Ward, Lonoke Co., AR. I would love any contact with descendants of James Amos and Nina Knox McConnell.

I am looking for information on family of David Pryor born May 1824 in North Carolina son of unknown Pryor and mother Elizabeth They moved to Greene county MO (later became part of Lawrence couny) between 1836 and 1838. They had the following children according to the 1850 Lawrence county census - David born may 1824 NC; William abt. 1827 NC; Catharine abt 1827 NC; Daniel J. abt 1829 NC; Polly J. abt 1832 NC; Thomas J. abt 1834 NC; Elizabeth abt 1836 NC; Francis abt 1838 MO; Lucinda abt 1842 MO Sometime between the birth of the last child and the 1850 census the father of this family disappeared- I'm assuming died for now. I have no access to 1840 census records, could anyone get me any info on the father?

Searching for information on Richard Steele, Sr. (1778-1860) of Greene county. He was born in Rowan County, NC, moved to Williamson County, Tn. about 1804, and married Margaret Graham. Moved to Missouri about 1833. Does anyone know if his oldest son was Richard Laban Steele of Williamson County, Tn. who did not move to Missouri with the rest of the family? Would like to know anything about this possible ancestor and his descendants.

I'm looking for any info on George Rufus Wilkerson, who also went by the last name of Wilson on occassion. He was born in Springfield, Missouri in 1874. Later, he married a Lula or Lulu Clark and they moved to Oklahoma. I'm interested in his family, such as info on his father and mother John Wilkerson and Sarah Literal. Searching for information on Richard Steele, Sr. (1778-1860) listed in 1850 Census as a resident of Greene County, Mo., Campbell Township. He moved his family from Williamson County, Tn. about 1833. I am trying to find a positive connection to who I think is his oldest son, Richard Laban Steele (?1804- 1864)of Williamson County, Tn. This son stayed in Tennessee with his young family when the rest of the family moved to Missouri.

My gr grandmother supposedly lived (family says owned land) in Springfield, MO, and moved to TX marrying Sam Burns. They had children in TX in the 1880's. I can find nothing about her.

Looking for info on ancestors of Richard C. Price who married Mary E. Parr in February 1840 in MO. They were on the 1850 Census for Greene Co., MO. with three children. Richard was shown to be 36 yrs and born in Virginia. Don't knfow how long he had been in MO. This family moved to Texas in 1855, I believe. Richard is reported to have died in Grayson Co., TX in 1859.

I would like to find out information about the date of birth of Chalma Roberts. He was supposedly born in Springfield, Missouri in 1903 to a woman named Delvia Jane Roberts(?). Funk, Martin purchased a land patent in Greene County in 1859. I am searcing a Funk/Johnston/Brown connection. My grandfather John Harvey Brown had two Funk children living with him and his father William Brown and mother Sally Jane Johnston Brown in the 1880 census of Stone County. There was a family rumor that the two Funk children were part of nine Funk children who were farmed out all over because their parents were killed in a tornado.

Looking for information on my husband's maternal grandparents, Charles Jordan Chappell and Anna Laura Weaver (b. 3 MAR 18??)who were married 9 Feb 1916. They had four children: Mildred Elizabeth (b. 24 Apr 1919 in Springfield), John Ely, Herb and Fred. My husband's mother, Mildred, married Benjamin Arthur Dennis, Jr. (b. 30 Aug 1918 in Lockwood) 10 Aug 1940. Any information on the Chappell's or Weaver's would be appreciated. (The Weaver family was in Vaudville and oral history says they are related to Dennis Weaver, the actor.) I have information on the Dennis family back to 1839 that I would be happy to share.

Seeking the ancestors or relatives of Henry H or A Jackson, a probable resident of Greene County, in 1871-1873. Henry H. Jackson, b abt 1873, m April 1, 1871, to Mary Frances Scobee, at Stahl, Adair County, MO, d 1872; family tradition is that he was a wagonmaster who was killed by Indians. At the time of his death Mary Frances was pregnant with her first child, Carlos Lee Jackson, b June 6, 1873, Springfield. We seek contact with any Jackson in Greene county or surrounding counties that may have any information about any Jackson in 1860-1900. After the death of Henry, Mary Frances m AUSTIN Sizemore; until Carlos Lee was past age 20 he probably was known as Carlos Lee Sizemore. We have record of Carlos Lee marrying Rachel Elizabeth Adair at Warsaw, Benton Co, MO, under the name of Lee Sizemore. Further, family tradition has it that Carlos Lee lived a part of his teenage years in Greene Co. We are seeking to discover written records of date & place of birth & death of Henry H. Looking for information on George Hale b 1830 Ohio married Elizabeth Dixon b 1840 . George and Elizabeth were married in Greene Co. Missouri on February 3, 1853. I think Elizabeth's parents were John Dixon b abt 1820 and Susannah Ricketts b abt 1824. They were listed in the 1850 Greene co. census. George and Elizabeth raised their family in Douglas,Webster,and Taney counties.

it is my understanding my grandfather spent his last days and died in Springfield, MO in 1947. We think he was born in 1865 in Arkansas. His name was Thomas Jefferson Slape and was married to Becky Victoria Marler. We think he was buried in Yellville, Arkansas. Looking for information on the Ewell & Nancy Creed Moore Family, and the Gallahue & Rhoda Lawrence Moore Family. Both were two of the eight children of Rodeham (1744-1811) & Elizabeth Gallahue Moore (1752-1825) of Henry/Patrick Co., Va .& Surry Co., N.C.. that migrated to Polk Co. around 1835-40. Two other children of Rodeham & Elizabeth migrated to Tri-County MO area as well - son John Moore and daughter Sallie Moore Williams. Many Moore families in area descend from John & Sallie. Ewell Moore was born in Henry-Patrick Co. VA. in 1791, married Nancy Creed in 1812, and moved to Hawkins Co. TN by the 1830 census. In 1840 census, he and wife are in Polk Co. MO. with 6 female and 3 male children. Only child names known to us are Eliza (b. 1815?) and Matilda (b. 1820?), probably all born in Hawkins Co. Tennessee. These two daughters married William & Abner Nall (brothers) of Greene Co. No descendants, cemetery, or other info. known to us.
