John Clark was born in IL 1831-34 and was the father of "Ma" Barker. John Clark appears on the 1860 Census of Greene Co. with the families of John and Mary B. Turner (both 31) and Caleb & Sarah Tyler (23&20. His relationship if any to these families is unknown. He may have just been a laborer, but he owned real estate at the time. On 8 Dec. 1864 John Clark married Emaline E. Parker of Greene Co. She was the dau. of John A. and Anna Jane Sewell Parker of Greene Co. Their dau., Arizona Clark, was born in Greene Co. about 8 Oct. 1873. She married George Elias Barker 14 Sept. 1892 in Lawrence Co., MO. Arizona Clark Barker later became better known as "Ma" Barker. John and Emaline Clark had other children: Electa A., born about 1866 and died about 1927; Jesse (male) born about Jan. 1870 and died before 1927; and Eva M., born about 1876. John and Emaline Clark appeared on the 1870 Census of Greene Co. in Boone Twp. and John's age was given as 36. John Clark died about 1876 in Greene Co. and his widow married Reuben R. Reynolds on 8 Jul. 1879. John Clark was born in IL 1831-34. Any information on family members in Greene Co. or in IL would be most appreciated.

I am looking for any information on my g-g-g-g grandparents Mehitable Arms and Royal Hazelton/Hazeltine. They were married December 2, 1803 or 08 in Smithsfield, Madison County New York. Royal and Mehitable were the parents of Mary "Polly" Hazelton. Royal died in July 1851 and is said to be burried in Greene County. Mary married Washington Rinker.I haven't any information about Washington Rinker .

Looking for John Newton Bolin b. 1-22-1860 Springfield,Greene Co Missouri. Father was William Bolin b.? died early 1860's by bushwhackers who took him out of his home in the middle of the night and decapitated him. John Newton moved to AR after the death of his father where he married Martha Francis Martin. John Newton had a two sisters named: Sarah & Jane. John's mother's name was Priscilla Hayes Bolin b. 1858 MO.

Searching for a death record for my grandmother Ida Mills Carney b.abt 1870 d.abt 1901-1903 and a birth record for my mother Clara Mabel Carney b.10-10-1901. William H. Carney and Ida Mills were married and living in St. Clair Co., E. St. Louis, IL. at the time of the 1900 census. It is believed that Ida died in child birth at the time my mother was born. William H. remarried in about 1903 to a woman named Rebeca. (Looking for the marriage record.) I located William, Rebeca and Clara living in Springfield MO. at the time of the 1910 census. William died 26 Sep 1911 in Springfield MO. and is buried in the Hazelwood Cemetery. Rebeca placed Clara in an orphanage in Springfield, MO.(Loooking for the name of the Orphanage) after William's death. Ida is the daughter of Henry Carr Mills of Vandalia, Fayette Co., IL. William is the son of Eli Carney and Caroline Matthews of Marion Co. IN and the brother of Samuel Carney also of Vandalia, Fayette Co., IL.

Elijah Lamb m. Martha Cates in 1844 in Polk County MO. Elijah lived in Maury County in his early years. Elijah and Martha went to Muhlenberg County KY where they lived out their lives. I am trying to find out why they were in Polk County in 1844 because so far as I can determine neither of their families lived there. I am interested in the Martha Lamb (age 84 b.NC) who lived with Isaac Kirk in Greene County (Finley Twp.) Was she a widow of the Moses Lamb who was in Polk Co in 1840? There was also a Rubin Cates living in Finley Twp Greene County (1850 Census) with his wife Elizabeth. Was he related to the Martha who m. Elijah Lamb? Lastly, History of Greene County, p. 911, gives bio of John Lamb who was born in Maury County TN in 1839. I'm interested to know if there was a relationship to Elijah Lam (b. NC 1822; lived Maury County 1824-1842). Elijah was the s/o Peter and Goodwin Cates Lamb from NC. A lot of interesting circumstances here that I would like to see come together.

I am researching Hattie Belle Althoff (1896-1964)), daughter of Henry Althoff (1862-1940) and Mary Ardelia Cannady (1866-1944). Hattie first married John Murray but later divorced him and married Charles Christopher Murray (1892-1975) in 1917. Hattie and Charles lived in Springfield from 1917 until at least 1920. Charles worked at the Springfield Wagon Factory in 1916. Any information about the Althoff family or clues about Hattie's first husband John Murray would be greatly appreciated.

Married Wilma Lee Martin, born December 7, 1903. Further generations still living. I have a copy of a pedigree chart compliled by Gary Max Fortnerof Willard, compiled on April 17, 1983. I am trying to locate the Rowe family that originally came from Webster County Missouri to Greene County Missouri. Thomas and Mary Prudence Marple Rowe married June 10 1824 in Fayette Co., Ohio. They moved to Wright County Missouri with their children about 1848 or so. Their children are James William who married Elizabeth C. (?) d April 21 1915 Franklin, Greene County; Nancy Jane married Joshua Hightower, Webster County; Elizabeth married Bejamin Stone; Samuel H. married Elizabeth (?) Webster Co.; VanBuren moved to CA and married Susan Anna McPherson. Thomas; George Washington; married Mahala Catherine Hood; and lastly, Jesse. Also James William Rowe and Elizabeth C. from Tn., their children are Prudence, Elizabeth M. J., William L., Angeline, Samuel, James McLelan, Parlee, George W. who married Della E. died 1933 Franklin Twp Greene County, Clarinda, and finally Henry G. born 1876.

Searching for information, on Dr. William Roby Harman, married to Ella M. Robberson, 6/21/1888, in Greene County. She died 5/9/1897 and is buried in, I believe, Robberson Prairie Cemetery. He remarried to Lula (maiden name unknown). Two children, from this 2nd marriage, William Ray and Francis May. Dr. William Roby Harman graduated from American College, in Kirksville, MO, on 4/21/1903. I am looking for information on Ella A. Reynolds Conley (b) 19, of April 1870 in White County Illinois married Jasper Newell Conley 1st of September 1891 and died 7th of September 1897 in Greene County, Missouri. They were married somewhere besides Greene County, and had three children. Clyde Harley, Edith M. and Sheriden. Clyde and Edith was born in Cherokee County, and Sheridan was born the 22th April 1897 in Greene County. The family was not a real close family, the story goes that when Ella passed away, the Catholic Church stepped in and forced him to put the children in an orphanage. It is believed that Edith was adopted by a family named Cobb and Sheidan was adopted by a family named Maine. I am still researching and trying to find out if this is a true story. Jasper did get married a second time to a Lucille True the other name that I found was Lucy Jackson.

I am searching for information about Grandville Preston Peale and Josephine Victoria Merrill Peale. They lived in Springfield since 1887. They lived at 1402 Washington Avenue (the street address was changed to 1502, which is the current address). They lived in that house from 1887 to 1903. The house is still in Springfield. I believe it has an historical marker in front of it, but it does not list the Peale family as living there. Josephine held a Christmas party in which many townspeople were invited, Dec. 1892 at that house and it was featured in the Springfield Democrat Newspaper. Grandville Peale owned G. P. Peale & Co. Insurance in 1892 (located at1622 Robberson Avenue (Present 1724). In 1903 he was the Republican candidate for congress in the Greene County district. Grandville owned 8 lots in the "Peale Subdivision"(located in the south side of Calhoun St. west of Grant). They had two children, Raymond Otis and Grace A. They divorced on May 11,1903. Josephine moved to 462 St. Louis Street, Springfield, MO. She eventually married Frank P Scott then later married Robert M. Lattomus. She died in Springfield and is buried at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens next to Frank P. Scott.
