Looking for info on Mildred Veach whose parents, Elisha and Elisabeth (Betty) Conner Veach were in the 1850 Greene County Census. Their children at that time, Joseph C., John Thomas, and Sarah Elizabeth Mary Francis Veach, are also listed in the 1850 census. An advertisement in the Springfield Advertiser in 1845, says that Elisha Veach has mail to be picked up, so they were in Greene County at least by 1845. They were in the 1860 Morgan County, MO Census, the 1870 census of Denton, County, TX, and some of the children were in the 1900 and 1910 Greer County, OK. I would love to hear from somone in regard to the Veach family. After Elisha Veach went to the gold mines, Betty married C. M. Poston. There were Postons in the 1850 Green County Census but I do not know if it is the same family.

Troy P. Harman, son of William Roby & Ella B. Robberson Harman, B. 4/23/1893 in Greene Co., MO. Served in WWI, settled in Tampa, FL. Son from first marriage, Troy, Jr., who was living in Key West, FL. Second wife's name was Charlotte. Troy P. died in 1985, in Tampa, FL. I was contacted by a gentleman, several months ago, saying he had relatives in FL; that may be related; but I failed to keep his address. Would appreciate it, if he sees this, he will contact me.

Looking for further info on Morton Wilson (b. c. 1865) and his wife Ida Florence Harris (b. c. 1872). They had at least one child, Harvey Otis (b. Aug 7, 1892 in Greene Co, MO; d. April 11, 1955). Someone told me he was born in Plainfield, but I haven't been able to locate it, so most likely it was actually Springfield. Harvey Otis Wilson m. Meacy Noel (b. Oct 20, 1897 Centralia, Boone Co, MO; daughter of Joshua Elan(zo) Noel and Martha Skaggs). Harvey and Meacy's children: Otis Donald, Melba Helen, and Violet Loretta.

I am looking for info on Samuel Milton Debord/Deboard b. 4/1/1848 in Pulaski Co., Kentucky. He married Vilara Bell Sleeper on 8/19/1874 in Springfield. They had a son named Mack Coy Debord who was born March 1886 in Indian Territory. He married Ona Unknown. They had a son named Hurbert or Herbert. Would like to know who Vilara Sleeper's parents were and other siblings of Samuel and Vilara. It appears that by 1886 the family had gone to Oklahoma. I have Debord info that I will gladly share.

I am seeking information about the family of Daniel Dorsey Berry. He was married to Olivia Marbury Polk, a first cousin of both John Polk Campbell and President James K. Polk. Both Daniel Berry and his wife along with several of their children are buried in Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield. I am descended from Louisa Matilda Berry and her first husband Joseph J. Clayton. I have a great deal of information on this family but would like to know if Daniel D. Berry left a will in Greene Co. at his death in October 1862. Did he particpate in the Civil War battles in the vicinity of Springfield?

Dr.William Roby Harman, b. 1/25/1867, Watauga Co., NC, married in Greene County, 6/21/1888, graduated from Americal Medical College, in St. Louis, MO, 4/21/1903, was Webster County Coroner, from 1903 -1909. Opened practice in Springfield, Greene County, MO, in that same time period, also operated a drug store/pharmacy, on Camel St., in Springfield, for several years. Wm.'s first wife Ella Robberson died in 1897, buried in Hazelwood Cemetery, Wm. remarried after returning from school, to Lula Haslip. Any information greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for the parents of my great-grandfather, Presley Alexander, who was from Springfield, MO. Presley (maybe William Presley) was born around 1860. Presley had red hair, was born in Illinois and married Phoebe Sharp, also from Illinois. They settled in MO, and my grandmother, Julia Belle Alexander was born in Buffalo, Missouri on 3/14/1867. She had one older sister (about 3-4 years older) named Londie, or Lundy, or Lundie. Both of them lived most of their adult lives in Arkansas. Aunt Lundy was 102 when she died, and my grandmother was 97.

The US census of 1880 has my greatgrand father Charles F. The time would have been near to the 1930's a person named Lightfoot talked Gus Davis out of being a deputy, in Greene County Missouri. There was a man and 2 or ? of his boys or brothers that shot Lightfoot, who did become the deputy instead of William Augustine (Gus) Davis. The sheriff, plus 2 or 3 other deputies was also shot. This Lightfoot is somehow related to Gus Davis and therefore somehow related to me. We do not know how he was related. I would be interested in learning about this event and how I might find out about it as it did happen in Springfield Mo. The man's name that did the shooting may have been named Young. Also looking for relatives of Ben Davis. He worked for Frisco and it is said he committed suicide. He was married, but do not know to who and do not think he had any children. He was also a collector of Jesse James things which is said to have been passed to a nephew of his. Ben is laid to rest with many of the family members in the Highlandville Cem.

Lee Preston Coonis-born 12-24-20 unknown where, died 4-17-80 in Springfield. Married Helen Ruth Burgess 1940 or '41. Helen Ruth died 8-22-98 in Springfield. Lee's mothers name was Betty Henry , DOD 3-30-80 in Springfield. Lee was named after his father. No information on him. Helen's mother was Agnes Hall Burgess. No information. Helen and Lee had 6 children. I'm in contact with all, but would like any info. you may have.
