| The official Insignia of the
National Society
Daughters of the American Revolution shall be in the form of a spinning
wheel and distaff. The insignia shall be worn on the left breast
and only at functions of the Society and its chapters.
Unanimously adopted by the Board of Management on May 26, 1891, the Official Insignia was patented on September 22, 1891. The golden wheel of the Insignia represents a Spinning Wheel, the platinum or white gold Distaff represents Flax, the blue Rim and Distaff carry the colors of the Society, and the Stars represent the Thirteen Colonies. The Official Insignia is the property of and is copyrighted by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Unauthorized use is prohibited.
