Landowner: William & Andrea Buxbaum
Indexed by: partial Mar 23 2003 by Dave Swart
Directions: Near Huntingdale behind the farm of Angie Ake.
Condition: Dave Swart of Cameron Park, California explored this cemetery and here is his story: We visited Gillette Cemetery on Sunday March 23 2003 we had searched for the cemetery all afternoon with no luck, finally we went to the home of John Ake who was kind enough to drive us back into the location of the cemetery, after a short hike up the hill and over a barbed wire fence we found the cemetery.

The cemetery has been abandoned for many years and looks as if it has been vandalized, many of the headstones have been knocked over and broken some are shattered never to give up there secrets. It was getting late so we only had a short time to explore, I took a few pictures and we headed back down the hill, we thanked John for his kindness and he gave us directions to the cemetery from another direction that would be easier access and would not require an SUV to get to so we decided to return the following day.

Monday morning we returned with rakes and brushes and proceeded to search for the headstones of my Swart ancestors, after a few minutes we found several of there graves in a small area and proceeded to remove the accumulation of leaves and fallen tree limbs from around the graves, all of the headstones had been knocked over some were broken and some were nowhere to be found with only the foot markers with their initials remaining, we cleaned the area as best we could took lots pictures and then had a silent prayer for them before we left.
