History: Asa and Martha Ann Higgins Hendrick came to northwest Henry County in the early 1830's and were among the first settlers. Hendrick cemetery began as a family graveyard. Two of their sons were the first known burials. On November 11, 1876 they donated the land to be used as a public cemetery.
