Deepwater Items - Dec 1885 - There is still some talk of building a church in town this winter. Quite a number of our people are attending the protracted meetings at the Brownington Baptist Church. We are to have another saloon. We had thought that our town was pretty well supplied with that branch of business. - The Deepwater Social Club gave a grand ball at Keith and Perry's Hall Thursday night. - The Rev. Mr. Freeborn of Rich Hill held services in the depot on last Sabbath. Mr. Freeborn is a minister of the Congregational Church. He will build a church here. His society will give $1000 toward building and maintaining a minister for one year. This is a very liberal offer and deserves encouragement. - Mr. Samuel Currier, our energetic brick and pottery man, will soon commence the erection of a two story, 40 by 40, brick house in Deepwater.
