- L. M. Smith and wife spent Sunday with Charles Holland and wife.
- Mrs. Roy Saddler and children visited Mrs. Gus Erhart Thursday afternoon.
- Grandpa Morris, who is visiting his son W. H. Morris, has been in poor health for sometime and is not much improved at this writing.
- Mrs. Chas. Richards and daughter visited at the Winbigler home Saturday afternoon.
- Henry Oliver will leave for Montana the first of June to visit his son, Charlie.
- Chas. Holland is putting a new roof on his house.
- Henry Randal purchased a new cultivator Saturday.
- Frank Erhart sheared his sheep one day last week.
- Miss Leona Newberry is visiting her aunt Mrs. Lampkin this week.
- Mrs. Kalwei is on the sick list this week.
- Miss Lottie Baily of Appleton City has been employed to teach the Browning school the coming term.
- Mr. and Mrs. Will Stanford and daughter, grandma, Frank and Ruby Erhart were visitors at the home of Gus Erhart Sunday.

- Henry Oliver spent Saturday and Sunday with Claude Lampkin and family.
- Chas. Turner and wife spent Sunday with Harry Turner and wife.
- Goldie Young visited her cousin Ruby Erhart last week.
- Lloy Holland is visiting Mrs. Alva Winbigler this week.
- Roy Saddler delivered forty head of hogs to Colson Bros. Monday.
- Oliver and Stephenson, Chas. Turner and Gus Erhart delivered hogs to Bailey and Cole of Appleton City, Monday.
- Alva Winbigler left Thursday for ElDorado, for a few days visit with his brother Mr. Rainey.
- Tom Dodds visited his sister Mrs. Jas. McBride last week.
- Mrs. Claude Lampkin is on the sick list this week.
- Misses Belle and Estella Johnson and Mrs. Andy Cook and daughter visited Shade Morris and family Sunday.
- Mr. Morris Sr. is not any better at this writing.
- Gus Erhart spent Saturday night and Sunday with Frank Anderkirk and family.

- Will Stanford, wife and daughter, attended the Show at Montrose Saturday night.
- Wright Bailey and wife, of Appleton City were visiting in this community Sunday.
- Henry Oliver left Kansas City Tuesday morning for Montana to visit his son Charlie.
- Ernest Brown and Miss Reta Lindimore were united in marriage in Clinton, May 29. We wish much happiness for this worthy young couple.
- Mrs. Roy Saddler and children visited Mrs. Alva Winbigler Monday afternoon.
- Miss Faye Skaggs entertained a number of her friends at her home Monday evening.

- Miss Anna Thompson, who has been attending school at Cottey College, returned home last week.
- Mrs. Chas. Brown and children spent Thursday at the Claude Lampkin home.
- Miss Lena Clark visited in Montrose Friday.
- Barney Johnson delivered hogs to Montrose Monday.
- David Clark visited with Frank Skaggs Saturday and Sunday night.
- Alva Winbigler spent Sunday night with Frank Holland.
- Collis Lindimore has just finished painting Mr. Blew's house.
- Lou Smith sold 14 lambs last week which brought him seventy dollars.
- Frank Foster spent Saturday night with his uncle, Lum Foster.
- Mr. and Mrs. Lander, from Coffeyville, Kansas came in Wednesday to visit Mrs. Landers' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Storey.

- Will Stanford, wife and daughter visited at Appleton City Sunday.
- Ernest Brown and wife of near Deepwater visited the laters parents Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Lindimore Saturday night and Sunday.
- Mrs. Chas. Holland and daughters visited in Bates County last Sunday.
- Little Jewell Chisham had the misfortune to step on a nail but at the present writing is getting along nicely.
- Mrs. J. B Newberry of Kansas City has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Claude Lampkin and Mrs. Chas. Brown.
- Oliver and Stephenson shipped two cars of fine beef cattle to the St. Louis market Monday.
- Gus Erhart and Will Stanford put in a new concrete bridge last week.
- Lawrence Kalwei bought a new binder last Saturday.
- Frank Foster went to Montrose Sunday to see his cousin Miss Etta Taylor who went to Clinton that morning.
- L. M. Smith and wife attended church at Appleton Sunday.
- Mrs. Henry Kalwei, Sr. is much improved at this writing.
- Frank Erhart and mother spent Sunday at the home of James McBride and wife.
- Goldie Young of Spruce spent Tuesday night and Wednesday with her cousin, Miss Ruby Erhart.
- Miss Inez Stone visited several days at the Erhart homes last week.
- Chas. Holland and wife entertained quite a number of relatives last week.
- Ed Erhart and family spent Sunday with Edgar Jennings and wife.
- Mr. Tip Hunt visited his brother Ed Hunt the latter part of last week. His mother came home with him for a visit.

Mt. Hope Items - Montrose Recorder, Montrose MO - July 4 1913
- Harry Brown threshed his wheat last week. It threshed out a little over twenty bushels to the acre.
- Chas. Richards and Alva Winbigler are painting their houses.
- Robert Baldwin, wife and baby visited Mrs. Baldwin's parents Mr. Barnes and wife Sunday.
- John Jennings spent Saturday night and Sunday with Ed Erhart and family.
- Shade Morris had the misfortune of getting his team thrown off a bridge Saturday evening as he was coming home from town. He was working a young mule and it shied and both went in the ditch which was about four feet deep, outside a few bruises they were not hurt.
- Ruth and Kathryn Erhart spent Monday and Monday night with Miss Rosie Stevens.
- Henry Oliver who has been sick for sometime is not much improved at this writing.

- Mrs. Kennard and daughter of Kansas City spent Monday with Mrs. Will Stanford.
- Henry Oliver is visiting his daughter Mrs. Claude Lampkin this week.

- Mrs. Hy Kalwei is on the sick list this week.
- Inez Stone spent Sunday with Anna Thompson.
- Will Stanford, wife and daughter visited the formers parents near Hudson, Sunday.
- Georgia Thompson spent Thursday at the L. M. Smith home.

Mt. Hope Items - Montrose Recorder, Montrose MO - July 18 1913
- Miss Louise Mead of Butler, Mo., was a guest in the Oliver home last week.
- Miss Ethel Lampkin entertained as her guest Miss Wauretta Redford of Shawnee Mound a few days last week.
- The Country Culture Club held its monthly meeting at the home of Mrs. Chas. Holland on Wednesday afternoon of last week. A large number were in attendance despite the threatening clouds. the club enjoyed having with them as visitors, Mrs. Winbigler, Mrs. Chas. Richards, Miss Josie Richards, Mrs. Geo. Ellis of Columbia, Mo., Mrs. Geo. Newberry of Jefferson City and little Pauline Saddler. Interesting papers were read by Mesdames Pipes and Smith, Misses Deweese and Baskerville. A song by Mrs. Holland was a pleasing feature of the program.
- Randolph Fluty is helping Lampkins in the hay field this week.
- Lucian and Ben Baskerville, delivered to Bailey & Cole, twenty-two head of Hereford cattle, receiving $7.50 per hundred.
- Leroy Chambers was a guest of friends near Butler Saturday evening.
- Miss Ethel Lampkin entertained at Sunday dinner Misses Redford, Wilson, Ball and Messrs. Lucian Baskerville, Leroy Chambers and Fred Piepmier. After dinner they attended children's day exercises at Hudson.
- Mrs. Geo. B. Ellis of Columbia, visited her daughter Mrs. Holland last week.
- Miss Hattie Guy visited Tom Guy and family near Johnstown last week.
- Belle Atcheson is the proud owner of a little Mexican pony.
- Elizabeth Blew is visiting in the Erhart homes this week.
- Gus Erhart bought a bunch of shoats from Barney Bettles the first of the week.
- Ed and Frank Erhart delivered hogs to Bailey and Cole of Appleton City Monday.

- Clara Carter and family is visiting her father Hy. Oliver.
- Edgar Jennings and family and John Jennings spent Sunday with Ed Erhart and family.
- Claude Lampkin and family spent Sunday with Henry Oliver.
- Gus Erhart and wife entertained the following people Sunday afternoon: Shade Morris and wife, Will Stanford, Wife and daughter and little Jewel and Fewel Chisham.
- Mrs. Lightcap of Appleton City visited with Thomas Chambers and family last week.
- Leroy Chambers and Ethel Lampkin spent Sunday with Will Atcheson and wife of Butler.
- Ben and Rylan Lampkin delivered cattle to Bailey and Cole of Appleton City the first of the week.
- Gus Erhart delivered hogs to Bailey and Cole the first of the week.
- Joy Chambers is visiting in Butler this week.
- Leloy Holland spent several days of last week with Mrs. Alva Winbigler.
- Mrs. Mattie Newberry returned home last week. Her niece Miss Faye Skaggs accompanied her.

- Jesse Richards bought a fine new buggy in Butler Saturday.
- Frank Foster left Tuesday morning for Warsaw, Mo., to visit his mother, Mrs. Zumalh.

- Bob Smith and wife of Warrensburg visited from Friday to Monday with E. N. Blew and wife.
- Willie Chisham purchased a new corn binder last week. He is kept busy cutting corn in this neighborhood.
- Mrs. L. M. Smith and Mrs. Epple spent Thursday at the Chas. Holland home.
- Jesse Dodds of Rockville visited in the Jas. McBride home last week.
- Barney Johnson Sr. is not much improved at this writing.
- Mrs. L. M. Smith was shopping in Appleton City Friday.
- We understand that Tom Dodd has sold his farm near Montrose to Ed Dugan.
- The Randall Bros. are cutting their first crop of broom corn this week.

- Chas. Bornhauser, of Evansville, Ind., visited Gus Erhart and family from Thursday until Friday of last week.
- James McBride is on the sick list this week.
- Arthur Turner, who has spent the past year in Iowa is visiting home folks.
- Misses Josie and Lettie Richards left this week for Iowa.
- Jesse Dodds, of Rockville, visited over Sunday in the Jas. McBride home.
- Mrs. Blew, Mrs. Lindemore and Mrs. Chas. Holland and daughters called on Grandma Erhart Sunday afternoon.

- Chas. Holland, wife and daughters spent Sunday with Ed Erhart and family.
- Mrs. Harry Lamping and sons are visiting with Elisha Blew and wife at present.
- Ed Dugan is moving to his new home, the Dodds place.
- Will Lindemore and wife spent Sunday afternoon with Gus Erhart and family.
- Henry Oliver spent Sunday night with his daughter, Mrs. Claude Lampkin.
- Gus Erhart delivered a load of hogs to Bailey and Cole Monday morning.
- Browning school began Monday morning. There were 16 pupils on roll.

- L. Stone and family and Jonathan Jackson and wife were Sunday visitors in the Morris home.
- Mrs. Harry Lamping and sons returned to their home in Parsons Kans. Wednesday after visiting with home folks for the past two weeks.
- John Firsic and wife of near Appleton spent Sunday with E. N. Blew and wife.
- Mrs. Will Sanford and daughter Margie, spent Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. Gus Erhart.
- Miss Anna Thompson spent Thursday night with Mrs. L. Smith.
- Henry Olver spent Sunday with Claude Lampkin and wife.
- Lee Browning's new house is nearing completion.
- Enterprize School began Monday with Miss Lena Belisle as teacher. There were eight pupils on roll.
- Grandma Erhart spent Saturday and Sunday in Montrose.
- Miss Anna Thopson and Annabel Eckens left Wednesday for Nevada, Mo. They will attend Cotty college. This is Miss Thompson's second year there. We wish them both success.
- Our drouth of several months was broken last week by a gentle rain. Farmers are busy getting ready for wheat sowing.
- Ben Hughs of Rockford, Ill., is visiting his sister Mrs. Wesley Clark and nephew Will Chisham and family.

- E. Erhart and family spent Sunday with Mark Young and family.
- John Randall has rented Mrs. Hinkles farm for the coming year.
- Clarence Romdall is moving on the Ed Fenimore farm.
- Andy Stephenson is hauling corn from Appleton City.
- Alva Winbigler delivered a fine cow to Colson Bros. last Saturday.
- E. E. Albrecht went to LaDue Saturday evening on business.
- P. R. Stover was a Clinton visitor Wednesday.
- Fanny Albrecht was a Clinton visitor Friday.
- Mrs. Fred Holmes and mother, Mrs. Joseph Storey were Appleton City visitors Tuesday.
- Mrs. A. M. Winbigler went to Kansas City Tuesday for a few days visit with friends during the Royal Stock Show.
- Charles Bucher went to Sedalia, Tuesday where he will spend the winter.
- Nick Halfen went to Appleton City Saturday returning on the evening train.
- W. J. Hibler of Eldorado Springs visited at the Marks home near here a few days this week.
- O. H. Fennimore, wife and son went to Kansas City Monday for a weeks visit.
- G. W. Schweer of Windsor was a business visitor in Montrose the first of the week.
- J. R. Heyle of Rockville has accepted a position as assistant cashier at the Montrose Savings Bank, entering upon his new duties last week.
- Mrs. Dave Calhoun and babe went to Clinton Wednesday for a few days visit with her parents, J. F. Adcock and wife.
- O. H. Fennimore recently purchased a residence in the north part of town from Mrs. Kaumans and has moved into same. He has dug a cistern and otherwise improved the place.

- Mrs. J. A. Erhart and daughters, Kathryn and Ruth left last Wednesday for Cooper County where they will visit relatives several weeks.
- Alva Winbigler and wife spent a few days last week in Kansas City.

- Frank Foster spent Sunday with his uncle Lum Foster.
- Mrs. E. Erhart spent Monday afternoon with Mrs. E. Blew.
- Chas. Richards sold a fine draft horse to Lowenstein last week.
- Mr. Chambers delivered hogs to Bailey and cole the first of the week.
- Claud Lampkin bought a calf of Tony Fick last week.
