Daily Democrat, Clinton MO, Aug 29 2005 - Russell Clubb Jr. died June 10, 2005, in a hospital in Milton, Florida. He was born May 19, 1927, in Higginsville. He was in the United States Navy from 1944-1946 and worked for (United Telephone) Sprint for over 40 years and retired from Sprint in 1989. He moved to Milton in 1991. He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Clubb Sr.; two sons, Robert Charles and Terry Edward Clubb; a brother Bob Clubb, and a sister June Clubb. He is survived by his mother Edna Mae Clubb Hunsaker, Lee's Summit; an aunt Olene Simmens, Chico, California; his wife of eight years Gloria S. Prescott, Milton, Florida; a sister and brother-in-law Pat and Jim Conand of Lee's Summit. He has six daughters and one son, Louise and Jack Baker, Pace, Florida, Mike and Wendy Clubb of Anderson, California, Lynn and Karl Davis, Raytown, Lillian and Fred Pyritz, Milton, Florida, Mary Ann and Clay Campbell, Pace, Florida, Susan (Holmes) and Marco Burton, Pensacola, Florida, Frances and David Jacobs, Pensacola, Florida. He is blessed with 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews; two special little boys, Rosco and Dino. A private family memorial was held at Lewis Funeral Home in Milton, then he will be cremated. Lewis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Daily Democrat, Clinton MO, Apr 3 2001 - Benton Winfield Clyde, 86, Independence, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at the Independence Manor Care Center. He was born April 15, 1914, in Dallas Center, Iowa, son of Fred and Lula Clyde. His wife, Lila (Miller) Clyde was from Norris and the Clydes used to live around Norris until about 15 years ago. He was an All State receiver in football. In 1943 he was called to serve his country and enlisted in the Army. While in France he was captured by the Germans and became a prisoner of war in Mooseberg, Germany. After his liberation in 1945, he returned to Iowa where he and Lila Miller, whom he married in 1938, ran a truck stop in Wilton Junction. In 1954 he moved his family to Independence where he joined the Independence Fire Department. He retired in 1977 as a district chief. He was a member of the Int. Fire (obit clipped)
