Clinton MO - Call to the Home Above: Raymond Eugene, son of Otis Scanlon and wife Christina Consuella (Grasher) Scanlon answered the final summons Sunday, June 24th, at 10:15 p.m. He had been ailing since April when he had the measles then Cholera Infantum which was too much for his frail constitution. The Doctor advised a change of climate so they brought him on a pillow from Oklahoma to his grandmother Grashers near Hartwell, but he grew worse and pneumonia developed. He was unconscious all the time and his sufferings were ended at the above stated time. Everything possible was done for him but to no avail. Jesus said, "Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of Heaven," so he called this one. Raymond Eugene Scanlon was born Dec. 29, 1915, being 1 year, 5 months and 25 days old. He is survived by his parents, grandparents, and a host of relatives and friends. Everybody loved this child he was such a sweet baby, budded on earth to blossom in Heaven. His funeral services were conducted at Hartwell Baptist church Monday June 25th. Then his little form was laid away in the Norris cemetery.
