Daily Democrat, Clinton MO, Dec 9 2002 - Warren "Bud" Utt, 71, Windsor, died late Friday evening, December 6, 2002, at Golden Valley Hospital in Clinton. He was born May 9, 1931, in Stonington, Colorado, the son of Noah Webster Utt and Edythe Leona (Oglesby) Utt. On June 17, 1955, in Windsor, he married Diane Sue McAllister, who survives of the home. He worked for the International Shoe Factory in Windsor for 33 years before the factory closed. He then became a cable splicer, working in Texas and the Jefferson City area for several years. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the First Baptist Church, Windsor. He was an active volunteer for the Samaritan Center in Clinton and delivered meals for the Windsor Senior Center. He was also a member of the Kansas City Air Stream Club. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Bruce W. Utt, Windsor, and Brian L. Utt, Bay Point, California; two daughters, Valerie D. Hill and Vanessa K. Butterwick, both of Windsor; three sisters, Juanita Cook, Sedalia, Dorothy Stevens, Windsor, and Darlene Christy, Lathrop; nine grandchildren, Dana Adams, P. K. Butterwick, Nick Hill, Andy Hill, Noah Hill, Jaime Utt, Brooke Utt, Ryan Utt, Kendrick Utt; a great-granddaughter, Dacia Adams; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, a nephew and a sister, Eula Brooks. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 10, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor.

Daily Democrat, Clinton MO, Dec 7 2001 - Harley James Utter, 91, Clinton, was born October 8, 1910, in Kansas City, Kansas, son of Herbert Lee and Sarah Frances Howard Utter. He died November 25, 2001, at Westwood Nursing Center in Clinton. He attended Wyandotte High School and McPherson, Friends and Wichita State universities. He was a member of the Brethren Church. His writings were published regularly in their papers. He was a World War Ii veteran of the Army Air Force, serving in Lincoln, Nebraska, and Buffalo, new York, where an eye injury caused his medical discharge. He was employed by North American Aviation in Kansas City, Kansas, and by Boeing Aviation in Wichita, Kansas. His interest in recycling began as a child at his father's side. He was a familiar sight on his bicycle in Wichita, as he worked the roads and highways nearby. he was a lover of small animals and fed all the stray cats. Preceding him in death his parents and one brother, George Wilbur Utter. He is survived by 10 nieces and nephews, Opal Irene Paine, Arthur Utter, Kansas City, Kansas, Carolyn Bloomquist, Newport News, Virginia, Ruth Scheuler, Dorothy Nixon, Richard Utter, John Utter, Kansas City, Ginger Scott, Lake Lotawanna, Anna Lynch, Warrensburg, and Mary Frances Brand, Clinton.
