I have Mary living in Deepwater in the 1860 US Federal Census, as well as 1870 and 1880. I would like to know more about them.† James doesn't appear in any of the censuses.
CHRISTEN - KLASS - GROSS - SCHWENGER posted 9/27/2007 Sally Peiffer jnpsmp77@yahoo.com I am wanting more information on a Jacob CHRISTEN, born Switzerland 1865, came to America 1881, settled in Highland, Illinois and then moved to Ladue, Henry Co., Missouri area.† Married Christina KLASS GROSS, widow of John GROSS in January 1898.† Together they had one son, Carl CHRISTEN.† Jacob CHRISTEN died August 2, 1940 and was taken back to Highland, Illinois for burial.† In the 1920 and 1930 census, his wife Christina is not listed with him.† Christina died January 21, 1939.† Upon receiving their death certificates, Christina was listed as widowed, husband, John GROSS and Jacob CHRISTEN listed married to a Berta SCHWENGER.† Does anyone have any information on Berta?† When they were married?† Where she went after Jacob died?† Also, Christines death certificates' informant was a Lena MADDOX.† Does anyone know her?

She was born in either late 1873 or 1874 depending when the 1880 census was taken as she is about 6 at time the census was taken. I have letter written to my grandmother in 1941 mentioning that she apparently married a man with surname RUSCH who may have lived in or near the Coal community.
