GINNINGS, GENNINGS, JENNINGS...JOHNSTON...POTTER
I am searching for info on Josiah GENNINGS or GINNINGS around 1818. Josiah was born in 1781 in Tenn. and married Sarah JOHNSTON on July 13, 1802 in Lincoln County, Kentucky. Moved to Missouri after the births of the few firstborn children. My gggrandfather was the 9th child born, Jesse Walker JENNINGS on Sept. 2, 1821 in Howard Co. Missouri. The GENNINGS moved to Caldwell Co., Texas later on and had more children. Jesse Walker JENNINGS married Mary Polly POTTER on Aug.26,1840 possibly in Missouri and she is the daughter of Joshua POTTER who died leaving her an orphan along with her brothers and sisters, including Andrew Jackson POTTER,"The Fighting Parson" of Texas. Any info on Josiah GENNINGS or Joshua POTTER would be greatly appreciated. Thanks mary

I have just been researching my ancestors The Wingfields in Howard County, Missouri. I am very excited to find infor from Dawn Owings dated may 2002. I also have a photo of Major Wingfield sitting by the lake with his fishing rod, and also pictures of Jessie Zumsteg. This is, up to now the only information my family have had since the Wingfields moved to America. I am called Emma Chapman, my father's grandfather married a member of the Wingfield's, but i have more information on this, but not to hand. The Chapman's lived in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. I hope more information on the Wingfield's can be found.

I've lost track of Andrew SMITH and his wife Sarah SCRIVNER (with a V). They settled in Howard County after 1813, moving from Fort Hempstead where he was in the militia( weren't all the men?) Their children were Andrew, Ann Elizabeth, Mary "Polly", Lucretia, Obediah, Thomas (became a minister) b. 11 Mar 1793, d. 18 Apr 1857 (is buried in Cedar Springs, Cedar County), and John. Has anyone a line on them?

First of all, I want to apologize for my bad English. My name is Patrick Lernout. I live in Waregem-Belgium at about one mile from the US Flanders Field military cemetery. I am interested in the history of World War 1, so this cemetery has my special attention. I started to write a book about the soldiers buried here and am looking for information about all those men. I think the book would be a great tribute for those young Americans who gave their lives for the freedom of my country.
In the cemetery is buried Samuel A DAVISs Jr. He was from Fayette. Should anyone have information/pictures about him or some history, addresses, etc ? ? He was killed in action October 31, 1918. Sometimes a Roll of Honor book of the county was made. Thank you very much in advance.
