who operated steamboats on the Missouri River. Joe Jr. married Mary LANGAN, 1890;

My cousins and I are looking for the family of our great grandfather,
Charles Bailey TATUM, who was born in 1848...supposedly in Missouri. Also,
according to family lore, Charles Bailey TATUM fought for the Union during
the Civil War (which created havoc when he came to Texas and married my
great grandmother who was the daughter of a Confederate!!). We have
located a Charles TATUM as the son of John and Nancy TATUM in the Howard
County 1850 Census. He also shows up in the 1860 Census but not the 1870
Census, although it appears that John TATUM is in all three. We have not
been able to find any more records concerning this Charles TATUM. Does
anyone have any type of records with any information that might help us?

I am looking for the following families: ALLEN, PEARL, WARREN
and WITHERS. Charles ALLEN married Mary WITHERS in Henrico County,
Virginia in the 1820's. They moved to Howard County, Missouri in circa
1830. A few years later they moved to Monroe County near Middle Grove,
Missouri. Robert WARREN moved his family from Tennessee to Howard County,
Missouri in the 1820's. I am specifically looking for an Elizabeth WARREN
that married a William PEARL. I suspect, they later moved to Livingston
and Randolph Counties.

I am attempting to trace my branch of the BALLEW clan. I have gotten to my
Great Great Grandfather, Hiram BALLEW, who died in 1820 and is buried,
with his wife, Dorcas in Richland Cemetery in Howard County, Missouri. Any
record of BALLEWs of this particular branch prior to Hiram? Thank you for
anything you can find.

Jacob JOHNSON who probably lived in Howard county around 1840-1850. Moved
there from Tennessee and eventually to Jackson county. These are not the
sons of Claborne JOHNSON. Thanks.

I am seeking information concerning any REED or REID families that lived
in Howard County, Missouri during the 1800s. I am related to Hiram and
William REED who arrived in Howard County about 1820 from Kentucky. Other
members of the extended family may have come from Tennessee. Any and all
REED inquiries are welcome.
