A special thanks to Dona Cupp for donating this listing!

Fidelity Cemetery is located 6 miles South of Carthage, Mo., and on the South side of I-44 on the East side of the road. Fidelity one of the oldest towns in Jasper County, was laid out by William Clow in 1856. Directly above the town on the North is located Fidelity Cemetery. On October 20, 1851 William Cloe and wife-Emily gave as a gift to the Christian Church, 4 acres (more or less). This Cemetery is taken care of by donations and volunteers.

The following Legends beside each name stand for:W=West Side
E=East Side
S=South End
O=Obit
HP=Headstone Picture
MM=Mortuary Marker
NM=No Marker
ONA=Obit Not Available
For more information on Pictures or Obituaries listed as available, please email Dona Cupp.

The names in "( )" are the maiden names that I know of and not necessarily on the headstones.

There are 17 concrete crosses left in the Cemetery that we have no idea who they are.

Parents were traveling through the country in a covered wagon. They camped out at the Fidelity Spring, south of the Cemetery. During their stay, the children died of an unknown disease. Their graves are in the Northwest part of the Cemetery marked by a metal fence, made of rims off of buggy wheels.

God's Garden
God looked around His Garden and He found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this earth, and saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best.
He knew you were suffering, He knew that you would never get well on earth again,
He saw the road was getting rough
and the hills were hard to climb. So, He closed you weary eyelids, and whispered,
"Peace be thine"
It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn't go alone,
For part of us went with you The day God called you home.
