The photo was labeled Miss Imboden's Class, Amity School, 1915. On the front row, first left side is Forrest Wilson. On the top row third from right is Robert Wilson. They were the sons of William Holmes Wilson and Lucy Griffis Wilson. William came to Joplin at the end of 1874 with his parents Mark and Drusilla Holmes Wilson. They both died in the summer of 1876 and were buried at Cox's Cemetery. William was a miner, teamster, and later foreman for the construction of new cement roads in Jasper County. Also in the picture are Newlon Griffis second row first left and Link Griffis third row fourth from right. They were both sons of John A. (Bud) Griffis and Gertie Newlon Griffis. Bud was also a miner and his family moved to Newton County shortly after the end of the Civil War in the late 1860's.
