In the Eckel's family area in the center of the cemetery.
Emma Gade should read Cade as she is the granddaughter of the William
Eckel b 1815 that is buried there and the sister of the William(b 1869)
who is also there. One of William (1869's) daughters Nellie is also
located there and she died in infancy. Her name on the Sherwood
cemetery list is listed as Nettie.
The mother Nettie is buried with her son Harry in the Carl Junction
Cemetery. Harry died in 1870, about 22 years after his mother Nettie.
There are two empty spaces in this Eckel section, but no stones
(head or foot stones like on the other graves).
We are also looking for the burial location of another William Eckel/s born
1945 and died in 1887 and we think near Sherwood in Galena Twp. He is the
son of the 1815 William and the father of the 1869 William. Also looking
for the graves of John M. Cade the husband of Emma. John we think married
his widowed mother in law Dora by April 1880 and we don't know what happened
to them after that date. Submitted by:Jacke Eckel
