The Last Will and Testament of William Hull born May 13 1800 Va and died 9 Jan 1875 Barton
County Missouri buried in Mitchell Cem. Jasper Missouri
To all to whom these presents may come, Know you that I William Hull now of Barton County Missouri
late of Knox County Ohio do make and publish this my last will and testament on this Sevententh day
of September in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and Seventy.
Item # 1
I give devise and bequeath the south half of section 2 in Township thirty range 30 in Barton
County in the state of Missouri to my following named eight children, forty acres each as
follows, to wit :
to Thomas J Hull of Barton County Missouri the south east fourth of the south east quarter of said section 2
to Lucy Frances Varner of Licking County Ohio widow , the north west fourth of the south east quarter of said section 2
to John W Hull of Barton County Missouri the south east fourth of the south west quarter of said section 2
to James M Hull of Barton County Missouri the north west fourth of the south west quarter of the said section 2
to Mary Jane Gregg of Licking County Ohio the wife of William Gregg the north east fourth of the south west quarter of said section 2
to Elizabeth A Kennedy of Licking COunty Ohio wife of William Kennedy the south west fourth of the south east quarter of said section 2
to Caroline J Milstead of Randolph County Indiana Wife of William Mitchell the north east fourth of the south east quarter of said section 2
to Charles W Hull of Barton County Missouri the south west fourth of the southwest quarter of said section 2 all in fee simple.
Item #2
I give and bequeath to my other son Joseph W Hull of Ohio the Primissory notes I hold against
him and the full two ninths part of all the personal property which I shall leave at the time of
my decease after my burial expenses shall be paid, I having hertofore given to him five acres of
land in Henry County Ohio as a part of his share of my estate.
Item # 3
I give and bequeath to my other eight children named in the first item of this my last will
and testament to wit. Thomas J Hull , Lucy F Varner, John W Hull, James M Hull, Mary J Gregg,
Elizabeth A Kennedy, Caroline V Milstead and Charles W Hull the rest and the residue of all my
personal praoperty to be divided between them alike as follows to wit. I have kept and now keep
a memorandum book in which are charged to each of my said eight children advancements made to
them and I direct that in dividing my personal property in this Item bequeathed an account of
all of said advancements shall be taken by my executors hereinafter named and the advancements
and personal property be added together and thewhole be divided equally share and share alike
among my said eight children.
Item # 4
I hereby constitute and appoint my two sons Thomas J Hull and John W Hull the true and lawful
executors of this my last will and testament. I do hereby revoke and annul all former wills by
me made.
In witness thereof I have hereunto set my had and seal this 17th day of September A.D. 1870

The state of Missouri to any judge of justice of the peace or any mayor or chief magistrate
of any city in the town of Carthage Greeting
Know ye that suposing confidence in your ability we do hereby empower you to cause and come
before you at a time and place to be by you approved D A Harrison and C J Harrison to examine on
oath touching their knowledge of the execution of sain instrument of writing and of the
conditions of mind of the said William Hull, at the time of the publication of said instrument
of writing the examinations of the said D A harrison and C J Harrison this taken you will reduce
to writing and cause them to subscribe the same and the examination thus taken and subscribed you
will certify to the Clerk of our Probate Court within and for the County Of Barton State of
Missouri under your hand
Witness my hand as Clerk of our said Probate Court within and for Barton County Missouri with
the seal of our said Court hereto affixed at the town of Lancas in said County of Barton this
30th day of April A D 1875 singed
