OUR REPRESENTATIVE IN CONGRESS. Our able Representative in Congress, Hon. Henry T. BLOW, was some time since honored with a position upon the Reconstruction Committee, and in that important place is now occupied with the consideration of the great issue before the country, of the restoration of the lately rebellious States to the Union. So necessary does the presence of Mr. BLOW appear in his responsible place, that it is probable he will be returned as representative again this fall. So far he has more than met the expectations of his constituents, and they will honor themselves in continuing to honor him. |
| DEATH OF ANOTHER OLD CITIZEN. We have just been informed of the death of James R. ENGLAND, Esq. at his residence near Hanover, on the 7th inst. Mr. ENGLAND, was well known through out the county as one of our oldest and most substantial citizens. His sterling qualities and mind and heart made him respected by all who enjoyed his acquaintance. The particulars of this illness and death have not yet reached us. |

The citizens of Central Township welcome among them this week a new resident, Mr. WHITEHEAD, late of Illinois, who has just reached Hillsboro with his family, preparatory to occupying the farm he has purchased two or three miles distant. while enterprising men of all sections are welcome here, yet none make better citizens than those hailing from the patriotic "Sucker State." |
