Mrs. C.C.Campbell requests the pleasure of your company at the marriage ceremony of her daughter Emma Lucy to Jacob Swingle at her residence Tuesday evening Sept. 24, 1878 at 7:30 o'clock. --------------- Campbell-- Died at her home in this city on Monday evening Feb. 6, 1893 Mrs. Lucy Campbell. Mrs. Campbell was born Feb.20, 1818 in Washington co., Mo. She was nearly 75 years of age at the time of her death. She was married to Dr. C.C. Campbell on Jan.3, 1838 and she came to Johnson co. in the spring of 1847. She was the mother of 8 children, Five sons and 3 daughters, but two of whom survive her, John Campbell and Mrs. Swingle. She united with the C.P.Church when quite young and has ever been a faithful and devoted member of the same and has borne a noble christian character. Funeral services were conducted by Elder Y.W.Whitsett and the body laid to rest in the city cemetery. ------------- Jennings-Campbell A wedding that was a surprise to many at this place was that of Harry Jennings and Miss Eula Campbell which occurred at Warrensburg Wednesday afternoon, Rev. F .Y. Campbell officiating. Few knew that they were more than friends to each other, hence the surprise. Harry was born in Knob Noster and grew almost to manhood here. He is full of energy and has been a very successful salesman for wholesale houses. Miss Eula is an accomplished and very worthy young lady and of pleasing personality. They took the afternoon train west from Warrensburg for a visit in Kansas City. ----------------------------- Senior - Campbell Mr. Franklin Senior and Miss Berenice Campbell were united in marriage Tuesday afternoon Oct.18, 1904 at 2:30 at the home of the brides parents, Rev. Y.W.Whitsett of Kansas City officiating. The happy couple left on the afternoon train west bound for a tour of the west visiting Denver & as far west as Salt Lake City. The usual complement of friends armed with rice was at the depot to show them a jolly start and some accompanied them as far as Warrensburg. The groom is a member of the firm Spiess and Co. and a son of Judge J.G.Senior and a very worthy young gentleman. The bride is the youngest daughter of John V Campbell and is a cultivated and accomplished lady. The "Gem" wishes them the greatest good fortune through life. ----------------------- Mrs. Elizabeth Robertson mother of Mrs. J.V,Campbell and sister of George and Miss Nancy Ingram died at her home in Coffeyville, Kansas Thursday morning Oct. 20, 1904. The deceased lady was born in East Tennessee 78 years ago and moved with her parents to Mo. in 1844. She was married to E.C, Robertson in Moniteau county, Mo. Jan.28, 1847. She lived for a number of years at this place and in 1868 she moved to Coffeyville, Kansas, residing there ever since except for a short while at this place a few years ago. She was a faithful and consistent member of the Baptist church for many years and was esteemed a most excellent christian, friend and neighbor. The funeral was conducted by her pastor at Coffeyville and the interment took place there. John V Campbell, stock-dealer, Knob Noster, Mo, was born April 6, 1857. His father Dr. C.C.Campbell was a native of Ohio. He attended a literary school in Pennsylvania for several terms, and then returned to Ohio and commenced a study of medicine. He took his first course of lectures at the St. Louis Medical College. In 1838 he came to Missouri and located in Reynolds county, where he commenced the practice and continued the same for several years. In 1851 he moved to Johnson Co, Mo. and located in Knob Noster, where he immediately resumed his practice, and and in a short time he built up an extensive business, extending many miles around. He was married in Frederickston, Mo. in 1839 and died Dec. 31, 1876. J.V.Campbell the subject of this notice, spent the greater part of his youth on a farm. He was married in 1879 to Miss Nannie Robertson. Mr C. commenced business for himself at the age of 21, by dealing in stock, buying, selling and shipping to the eastern markets. He has one daughter Eula Maud. Mr. C. is now living on the old homestead, consisting of 140 acres, well improved, with good, substantial buildings. Subject: Campbells in K.N.
