Knob Noster Gem--Aug.12,1937 Ms Mary Glazebrook Mahin was buried in the Knob Noster Cemetery Friday afternoon after services at the Christian Church in LaMonte., her home community. Mrs Mahin, 64 years of age, died suddenly last Wednesday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs E.A.Ficken, who lives southeast of Knob Noster. She had been visiting there since Sunday, and was assisting Mrs Ficken in cooking for threshers. About 7 o'clock Mrs Mrs Mahin went to the cellar for some food, and failed to return. A search found her lying on the cellar floor. A heart attack is believed to caused her death. She is survived by two sons, Lloyd R and George E, as well as her daughter. All of them lived in this vicinity. Mrs Mahin was a member of the Christian church, the Rebekah lodge and a Royal Neighbor. Mrs Barbara Winchell died at the home of her daughter Mrs Henry Mahin southwest of LaMonte of Dropsey of the heart.,on Dec.30,1914. She was born in Fayette county Indiana ,May 12, 1848. Her first husband John Glazebrook died 3 years after marriage. They had one child, who survives the mother. She was married to W.G.Winchell who died about 22 years ago. The funeral was conducted at the Mahin home. Burial was in the Knob Noster Cemetery. (early files) Grover L Glazebrook, 76 years old, died unexpectedly of a hear attack at his home 1 1/4 mile south of Knob Noster at 6:30 o'clock Sunday morning. Mr and Mrs Glazebrook had returned Saturday from Kansas City, where they spent four and a half months with their daughter, Miss Marjorie, who teaches there. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Brauninger funeral home in Warrensburg, conducted by Rev.Lloyd D Wasson of Smithton, assisted by Elder James Mohler of Leeton. Mr Glazebrook was born Jan.3,1885 near Leeton the son of the late John L and Maria Bryson Glazebrook. He was married to Miss Maude Venable of Leeton in 1911. They were the parents of 4 children. Mr and Mrs Glazebrook and family moved to a farm north of Warrensburg in 1918, and then moved to a farm south of Knob Noster in the spring of 1936. Mr Glazebrook is survived by his wife and daughter, Miss Marjorie of the home, a son Kenneth Glazebrook of Lee's Summit; and 2 sisters Mrs Miller Rice of Warrensburg and Mrs Vernon B Hill of Cathedral City, Calif. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Jane, who died at the age of 3 years, and Vera Lee, who died at the age of 4 months, and a brother Roscoe Glazebrook. Burial was in the Mineral Creek cemetery at Leeton--taken from the K.N. Paper April 20.1961
