Knob Noster Gem March 1895-- The Puffenberger family, of whom Mrs 
Jacob Shoemaker and Henry Puffenberger are members, seems to enjoy 
long lives among its members to the degree not often seen. There 
were orgininally 9 members as follows:

Joseph     born in 1816
Adam       born in 1818
Lucy       born in  1820
John       born in  1823
Jacob      born in 1826
Rosanna    born in 1829  (Shoemaker)
George     born in 1832
Henry      born in1834
Catherine  born 1836  (Shawl)

All of these still living except Jacob who died a few years ago. 
Of the 8 living the oldest is over 76 years of age and the 
youngest 58 years of age, or an average of 68 years each. This is 
a record we believe difficult to excel in the line of longevity
