JOSEPHINE BRUNS Josephine Bruns, 88, Warrensburg, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2000 at Country Club Care Center, Warrensburg, Missouri. She was born May 17, 1912, in Warrensburg, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Gray) Henderson. On January 4, 1933 she married Raymond Bruns in Holden, Missouri. He preceded her in death July 8, 1983. Mrs. Bruns had lived in Columbus, Missouri for several years before moving to Holden in 1941. She moved to Warrensburg in 1976, where she lived the rest of her life. She taught school at Columbus Elementary, in 1928, Lexington, Missouri schools, Our Lady of Lourdes School in Raytown, Missouri and at the Sacred Heart Catholic School in Warrensburg. She farmed most of her life and co-owned and operated Bruns Upholstery in Holden for several years. In 1983 she achieved her Realtors license and worked at a Realty in Warrensburg for a few years. She is survived by two sons, Jim Bruns, Kansas City, Missouri and Don Bruns, Clinton; five grandchildren,and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Terry, in September of 1996. Funeral services were held Monday, December 18, 2000 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warrensburg, under the direction of Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home, Holden. Reverend Dennis Schaab officiated. Lynday Quistorff, organist, accompanied Melissa Gower, soloist. Music included, "Old Rugged Cross,' and "In the Garden." Pallbearers were Tom Parr, Mike Seaman, Harry White, Vernon Gudde, Richard Gudde, and Ron Brockhaus. Honorary pallbearers Frank Welhoff, Milton Clifton, Joe Dandurand, and John Bruch. Interment was at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Warrensburg, Missouri. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Show Me Christian Youth Home, Lamonte, Missouri, or the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warrensburg, Missouri. SIDNEY A. BILYEU Sidney A. Bilyeu, 78, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2000, at Specialty Hospital of Mid America, Overland Park, Kansas. He was born December 26, 1921 near Holden, Missouri, the son of Frederick Cline and Sadie M. Strelluf Bilyeu. He lived most of his life in Kansas City. He married Marianne Sellheim on February 27, 1954 in Independence, Missouri. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Following the war Mr. Bilyeu worked several years for Columbian Steel Tank Company in Kansas City. For the past 45 years he has owned Vacu-Flo Sales and Service, a distributor of central vacuum cleaning systems, in Kansas City. Mr. Bilyeu was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, the Aircraft Owner and Pilot Association, the Kansas City Marine Aero Club, the Elks Lodge, and of the Jolly Times Club, an organization of flying and fishing friends. He was a private pilot, and enjoyed flying his Bonanza. He was featered in the Men of Distinction section of the "Kansas City Jewish Chronicle," June 1994 edition, which honored Sid for all his hard work in the Kansas City area. He leaves his wife, Marianne Bilyeu, of the home; two daughters, Sharon Comer, Casselberry, FL, and Annette Gentry, Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren, Troy Comer, Bryan, Brooke, and Brandi Gentry; and one great grandson, Brett Comer. He was preceded in death by his brother, Holmes Bilyeu. He will be missed by his family and many friends and by all who did business with him through the years. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 19, 2000, at Ben Cast and Son- Wood Funeral Home, Holden. The Reverend Henry Gower officiated. Julie Stout, organist, accompanied, Vicky Stout, soloist. Music included "Amazing Grace," and "Abide with Me." Pallbearers were Jess Mantony, Orin E. Swift, Dewey Roberts, Troy Comer, Robert Thurman, Phil Houghton. Honorary pallbearers were Lleonard Geivett, George Cook, Don Ziulkowshi, Charlie Smith, K.P. Hunter, Bev Platt, Bill Brownfield, Fred Smardo, Bill Mullins, and Jim McGuire. Interment was at Holden Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to your favorite charity in memory of Sidney Bilyeu. MICHAEL R. VOGELER Michael R. Vogeler, 35, Holden, Missouri, was found dead Friday, November 24, 2000 south of Kingsville, Missouri. Mr. Vogeler was born Saturday, January 30, 1965 in Lee's Summit, Missouri. He was a 1984 Holden High School graduate and a self employed carpenter. He was a Baptist. He leaves a daughter, Amanda J. Vogeler; a step daughter, Milinda M. Baker; two sons, Michael "Mikey" A. Vogeler, and Kenneth "Kenny" M. Vogeler; three step sons, Damon E. Eberheart, Matthew E. Hughes, and Douglass A. Hughes; his mother Francis Treat, Holden; two sisters, Diane Bowman, Pleasant Hill, and Debbie Ailshire, Holden; two step sisters, Loretta Hostetter, Waverly, and Lisa Seleman, Garden City; two brothers, Jeff Vogeler, Pleasant Hill, and Chris Treat, Holden. He was preceded in death by his father Sammy Treat on May 19, 1999. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 19, 2000 at Williams Funeral Chapel, Holden. Rev. Rick Goeking officiated. Pallbearers were Dan Mainard, Ernie Goff, Ward Hutcheson, Kenny Jones, Kenny Ailshire, and Corey Vogeler. Interment was at Holden Cemetery. LEONARD LEE ZACHARIAS Leonard Lee Zacharias, 75, Holden, Missouri, formerly of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 18, 2000 at Western Missouri Medical Center. Mr. Zacharias was born Monday, January 19, 1925 in Kansas City, the son of Leonard and Elinor Wilson Zacharias. He was in the Coast Gaurd from 1943-1945 during World War II. He married Evelyn Morgan, December 31, 1948 in Kansas City and she survives of the home. Mr. Zacharias was a sheet metal worker and retired from City Wide Heating and Cooling and was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local No. 2. Also surviving are two sons, Kenneth W. Zacharias and wife Cindy, Greenwood, and Gary Zacharias and wife, Bridget, Holden; two grandchildren, Shannon Zacharias, Springfield, and Nicholas Zacharias, Greenwood; a brother, Bud Zacharias ans wife Faye, Independence. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Corenne Ostermann. Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 21, 2000 at Macedonia Cemetery, Osceola, Missouri, under the direction of Williams Funeral Chapel, Holden. The family will recieve friends from 7:00 to 9:oo p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2000 at Williams Funeral Chapel ,Holden.
