MYRNA JOYCE BOYLE Myrna Joyce Boyle, 64, Centerview, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2001, at Truman Medical Center West, Kansas City, Missouri. Myrna was born Wednesday, February 10, 1937 the daughter of Harold Frank and Alta Mae Schulenberg Brown in Raytown, Missouri. She had attended the Holden and Kingsville Schools and was a lifelong Johnson County Missouri resident. She was a homemaker. She married Steve F. Boyle April 23, 1955, and he survives, of the home; also surviving are four daughters, Sondra Kay Moore, Holden, Rhonda Fay Boyle, Centerview, Patti Ann Reed, Universal City, Texas, Karen Yvonne Boyle-Phillips, Independence; one son, Flint Thomas Boyle, Centerview; five grandchildren; one sister, Emma Mae Collier, Higginsville; three brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brown, Centerview, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry F. Brown, Stilwell, KS, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edwin Brown, Kingsville. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Brown in infancy. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 19, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Chapel, Holden. Pastor Kenneth Aldrich will officiate. Organist will be Dora May Brown and Regina Lesley and Renay Loyd will be vocalists. Pallbearers will be Roger Boyle, Brad Knipp, Leonard Moore, Bart Moore, Robert Reed, and Travis Phillips. RICHARD EDWARD WILLBANKS Richard Edward Willbanks, 61, Higginsville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington, Missouri. He was born September 1, 1939 in Fayette, Missouri, a son of Audy Preston and Annie Lucille (Ancel) Willbanks. He had lived in Fayette, Holden, Buckner, and Lexington and moved to Higginsville two years ago. Mr. Willbanks had been a fruit picker for Hoover Orchard and Stephenson Orchard in Sibley, Missouri and had worked at Park Seed Company in Holden. He was a Baptist. He leaves four brothers, Bill Willbanks, Corder, Missouri, Robert Willbanks, Buckner, Missouri, Audy L. and David Willbanks, Kingsville; and six sisters, Goldie Patton, Lockwood, Missouri, Peggy Willbanks, Holden, Annie Roberts, Buckner, Mary K. Fields, Butler, Linda Akers, Lexington, and Connie Rogers, Holden. Graveside service and interment will be held Friday, April 20, 2001 at Mt. REUTER, JR. Dr. George S. Reuter, Jr., 81, Holden, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 16, 2001 at Baptist Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri. He was born in Holden, Missouri February 9, 1920 the son of the late Judge G.S. and Laura Ethelyn (Angle) Reuter. The family had lived in Holden since the 1860s. He was a 1938 graduate of Holden High School. He earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Education at Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, and the Education Doctrate at the University of Missouri, Columbia. He served one year in post-doctoral research at Harvard University under the late Dr. Herold C. Hunt. Mr. Reuter held eight honorary doctorates. Dr. Reuter taught high school and served as an instructor in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was discharged as a Lieutenant. His educational service included the Ford Foundation (Arkansas Experiment in Teacher Education); Academic Dean of Minot State University in North Dakota; President of Sioux Empire College in Iowa; Research Director for the American Federation of Teachers; Professor of Education Administration at Southern Illinois University; Advisor to the Ministry of Education in Pakistan for UNESCO; Superintendent of Schools of New Madrid County, MO; Consultant to private schools and colleges in 56 nations of the world; Acting President of International Bible College and Seminary in Missouri. He was cited by former Commissioner of Education, Arthur L. Mallory, for the Portageville Follow Through Project that received first rating at the National Education Fair at the U.S. Department of Education. The Missouri Association of School Administrators cited him in January 1972 for 25 years as a school administrator. His wife, Helen (Hyde) Reuter, Ph.D., whom he married August 18, 1956, co-authored two major books with her husband, Democracy and Quality Education, and One Blood. Over 100 of Dr. Reuter's articles were used by U.S. Senators and Representatives, and were published in the Congressional Record. In 1983 Dr. Reuter returned to Holden and functioned as an educational consultant to more than 200 schools, colleges, and universities around the world. He was ordained a Baptist Deacon and later ordained a Baptist minister. He was Honorary Chancellor of Trinity College of Ministerial Arts in Aba, Nigeria, a life member of Phi Delta Kappa, American Association of School Administrators, and of the National Education Association. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Holden; Munday-Hancock Post 90 of the American Legion in Holden; President of the Holden Cemetery Association; and Democratic Committeeman for the South Holden precinct. He leaves his wife, Helen Reuter, of the home; three stepsons, Don Mitchell and M. Allan Mitchell, Atlanta, GA, and Kim Mitchell, Ponca City, OK; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Pearl Reuter. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 19, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home, Holden. Interment will be at Holden Cemetery, Holden, Missouri, with military honors by Holden VFW and American Legion Posts. JOSEPHINE MARY WEEKS Josephine Mary Weeks, of Holden, passed away Friday, April 13, 2001 at the Oak Grove Nursing Home in Oak Grove. She was married to Walter V. Weeks in December 1987, who preceded her in death. She had worked as a clerk in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. She is survived by her nephew and his wife, Leo and Ruby Weeks, Odessa. JUANITA HEIDLER Juanita Heidler, age 88, of Holden, formerly of Warrensburg and Windsor, MO, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2001 in Warrensburg, the result of an automobile accident. She was born on December 3, 1912 in Pittsville, MO, the daughter of Tyree Harris Berry and Flora Gertrude Black Berry. On April 26, 1928, she married Joseph Andrew Heidler in Warrensburg. He preceded her in death in March 1969. She was the owner/operator of Heidler Snack Bar in Windsor, MO from 1958 to 1969, and began working at Central Missouri State University as a cook from 1969 until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Warrensburg, the Homemaker Sunday School Class; Powell-Wagner Women's Mission at the church, the Golden Agers, Senior Adult Choir and the SOS Club of Holden. Survivors include a son, Joseph H. Heidler, of Independance, MO; three daughters: Ruth Hammond, Holden; Mary Shroer, Warrensburg; and Mintie Lopez, Yukon, OK; a brother, Keith Berry and a sister, Anna Jahde, both of Warrensburg; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. A son, Chet Heidler, in April 1968 and four brothers: Raymond, Glenn, James and Frank Berry preceded her in death. Funeral services were held on April 13 at the First Baptist Church of Warrensburg. Burial was in the Laurel Oaks Cemetery in Windsor. Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church building fund, and may be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home.
