BETTY JOE DUNCAN Betty Joe Duncan, age 72, Holden, Missouri, passed away Friday, July 20, 2001, at Lee's Summit Hospital, Lee's Summit, Missouri. She was born March 16, 1929 in Lee's Summit, the daughter of John Richard "Dick" and Vesta Lorene (Hedrick) Duncan. She lived in the Kingsville, Missouri community most of her life, and for the past three years at the Holden Manor Care Center in Holden. Betty graduated valedictorian of Kingsville High School class of 1948, and she attended Central Missouri State Teachers College for a time. She had been employed at Dunhill Manufacturing Company in Holden, later at Lake City Ammunition Plant in Independence, and then at Unitog Manufacturing Company in Warrensburg until she became disabled in 1972. She was a member of the Kingsville Christian Church and of the Work and Play Extension Club. She regularly used the Older Adults Transportation Services (OATS). Surviving her passing are three sisters, Marceline Jackson, Creede Colorado, Doras Mahnken, Holden, Missouri and Bennie Skinner and husband, Gavin of Grand Junction, Colorado; a brother, John Duncan, Jr. and wife, Norma, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. On many occasions Betty would say, "My 'family' are the people who truly care about me." Graveside services and burial were at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, July 22, 2001 at Duncan Cemetery in Kingsville, Missouri under the direction of Ben Cast and Son- Wood Funeral Home of Holden. Rev. Ethmer Erisman officiated. Pallbearers were Tony Norvell, Cody Norvell, Jim Duncan, David Mahnken, Richard Diaz and Phillip Diaz. PAULINE ROLPH Pauline Rolph, 74, Holden, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2001 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home, Holden. TERRI L. SMITH Terri L. Smith, 45, Holden, formerly of Boonville, MO died Thursday, July 19, 2001 at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. She moved to Holden from Boonville in 1985. She was born Friday, August 26, 1995 in Boonville, MO the daughter of Ralph W. Bieri and S. Darlene Simmons Bieri. A 1973 Boonville High School graduate, she also had attended EMT school in Holden. Mrs. Smith was director of the Holden Ambulance and had been police matron for the City of Holden. She was a member of the Westminister Presbyterian Church in Boonville and also the American Red Cross. On July 20, 1985, she married John H. Smith in Boonville and he survives of the home. Also surviving are two daughters, Sarah Smith of Warrensburg, Linda Smith of the home; son Raymond Smith of the home; two stepsons, John E. Smith, Green Ridge, Henry Lee Smith, Sedalia, MO; four grandchildren; her parents, Ralph and Darlene Bieri, Boonville, MO; two sisters, Carol Nauman, Boonville, MO, Dawn Hampton, Sedalia, MO; one brother, Bryan Bieri, Sheridan, WY. Funeral services were held Monday, July 23 at 10 a.m. at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden. Elder Mike Vick officiated. Pallbearers were Shane Hutchison, Jason Gilbert, Phil Cowick, Bill Ferrel, Billy Pace and Mike Hasting. Honorary pallbearers were Rick Martin, Dee Parrish, and Randy Vick. JEFFREY CHARLES BELCHER Jeffrey Charles Belcher, 38, Kingsville, MO (formerly of Pleasant Hill, MO) died Monday, July 16, 2001 at Research Hospital in Kansas City due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Greenwood, MO. Mr. Belcher was born Saturday, September 1, 1962 in Sayre, PA, the son of Paul Edward Belcher and Anne VanAuken Belcher. He was in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1980-1984 and moved to Pleasant Hill in 1986 and north of Kingsville in 1988. Mr. Belcher was a maintenance man at Mr. Longarm Co. in Greenwood and was a member of Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church, north of Kingsville. On January 13, 1991 in Blue Springs, MO, he married Cynthia Aldrich. She survives of the home. Also surviving are a daughter, Lucy Anne Belcher also of the home; his parents, Paul and Anne Belcher, Athens, PA; three sisters, Pam Shabazian, Waverly, NY, Sherry Gilliland, Kingsville, Judy Belcher, Athens, PA; two brothers, Bruce Belcher, Athens, PA and Paul M. Belcher, Hazel Green, AL. One sister, Lisa Belcher preceded. Funeral services were held Friday, July 20, under the direction of Williams Funeral Chapel at the Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church, north of Kingsville. Officiants were Stanley Cox, Claude Childers, Jim Erickson, Bobby Griffin and Ken Aldrich. Burial was in the Kingsville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jon Aldrich, C.C. Aldrich, John Gilliland, Paul M. Belcher, Nate Hackett and Jerry Hackett. Honorary pallbearers were James Jamison, Richard Winkler, David Kirchhoff, Bill Rogers and Sam Smith. Musicians were Richard Winkler, David Hackett, Paula Childers and Charlene Aldrich. They sang "He Came To Me," "Because He Lives," "When We All Get To Heaven," and "O, I Want To See Him." Contributions are suggested to the Mt. Zion Pentecostal Chuirch. ARLINE M. BEHM Arline M. Behm, 97, of Overland Park, KS, formerly of Kansas City, MO, died July 17, 2001 at Villa St. Joseph in Overland Park, KS. Arline, known lovingly as G.G., is a member of the Avon Presidents Club and sold Avon products in the Waldo area for over 25 years. After retiring, Arline touched the lives and hearts of many children in her home child care business. Arline is a member of Christ the King Catholic Church of Kansas City, MO and formerly attended Holy Cross Catholic Church of Overland Park, KS and Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church of Kansas City, MO. Arline was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy H. Behm, who died in 1972 and by her brothers, Joseph, Lloyd, Wayne and George Cocagne and by her sisters, Rita Flaherty, Lucille Delaney and Della Grant. Arline is survived by her three sons, Raymond Behm and wife, Thelma, of Paola, KS; Henry Behm and wife, Bernita, of Phoenix, AZ; Joseph Behm and wife, Frances, of Holden; and by her two daughters, Patricia Heinz and husband, Larry, of Overland Park, KS; and Mary Wilcox and husband, David, of Kansas City, MO; her brother, Leon Cocagne, of West Covina, CA and two sisters, Dorothy Butchko, of Irvine, CA and Ethel Jackson, of Vandalia, IL. She also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial was on Friday, July 20, and burial was in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
