KATHRYNE B. NITSCHE-SNARE Kathryne B. Nitsche-Snare passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at Western Missouri Medical Center. Mrs. Nitsche-Snare was a member of Sanford Brown Jr. Auxiliary of the American Legion, Scottish Rite Women's Club, VIP's of Ararat Shrine, Ararat Needle Guild and the Disable American Veterans Auxiliary of the American Legion. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy A. Nitsche and her parents, Edwin and Katherine Barnes. She is survived by her husband, Hubert Snare, of Warrensburg; several nieces and nephews; step-grandchildren; and a host of friends. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her. Graveside services were held Monday, July 30, 2001 at Mount Moriah Cemetery. Rev. Duke Tufty officiated. Arrangements were under the direction of Mt. Moriah & Freeman Chapel. E. RUTH CLARKE E. Ruth Clarke, 83, Holden, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2001 at Oak Grove Nursing & Rehabilitation. Mrs. Clarke was born Wednesday, January 30, 1918 in Holden, the daughter of Ephriam Jonas Hancock and Hazel Mae Brown Hancock. She had lived in Holden all her life. For several years she had worked at Holden Manufacturing Co. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Holden. On March 8, 1952 she married John Clarke in Holden. He survives of the home. Also surviving are a sister, Ermie Gann and her husband, Luther, Holden; a half sister, Jolene Harris and husband Bill, Wichita, KS; and a brother, Ronald Hancock and wife Joan, Lee's Summit; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Eugene, Harold, Marion, Floyd, Berl and Marvin Hancock; and one sister, Maurine Hancock. Graveside services were held Thursday, August 2, 2001 at Holden Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Chapel, Holden. Elder Robert L. Stewart officiated. Pallbearers were James Clarke, Stanley Clarke, Glen Gann, Herbert Gann, Tony Lerda, and Ronnie Hancock. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Holden Ministerial Alliance. GERALDINE A. (GERI) YATES Geraldine A. (Geri) Yates, 48, Raytown, MO, formerly of Holden and Kingsville, died Sunday, August 5, 2001 at her home. Geri was born Saturday, December 20, 1952 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Ernest H. (Ernie) Yates and Alice Lorraine Robinette Yates. She was a 1970 Holden High School graduate and had attended State Fair Community College in Sedalia. She was a member of Kingsville Baptist Church. Geri is survived by her fiance' Jim Davis; daughter, Heather Cain and her husband Michael, Lee's Summit; two sons, Justin Parker and his fiance' Rachel, Independence, and Brandon Perkins and wife Cheree, Villa Rica, GA; five grandchildren; her mother, Lorraine Yates, Kingsville; two brothers, Tom Yates, Pleasant Hill and Jim Templeton, Lake Winnebago; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Ernie Yates, April 25, 1993 and a brother, Dave Templeton. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 9, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Chapel, Holden. Rev. John McRoy will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jim Davis, Travis Yates, Buck Yates, Jim Yates, Kelly Drummond, and Michael Cain. Interment will be at Kingsville Cemetery. KATHERINE ALBERTA HAMMENT Katherine Alberta Hamment, 86, Holden, died Wednesday, August 1, 2001 at her home. Mrs. Hamment was born Friday, February 12, 1915 in Woods County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Andy Nicola and Agnes Sophia Hansen Nicola. She had lived most of her life in Johnson County. She had been a cook at Central Missouri State University and in later years she worked at the Holden Senior Center. Mrs. Hamment was a former member of the New Liberty Presbyterian Church in Denton and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Holden and church groups, Mariners and Ladies Aide which she was secretary. On May 3, 1941, in Napoleon, OH, she married Forrest Hamment and he preceded her in death on May 19, 1982. She is survived by a son, John Hamment and his wife Gerry, Kingsville; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Nicola; two brothers, Arch and Elmer Nicola. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 4, 2001 at Williams Funeral Chapel, Holden. Henry Gower officiated. Pallbearers were Tim Gustin, Mike Terry, Kent Wright, Larry Atkins, Shelby Schafer, and Ken Nordvall. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Butler, J.C. Atkins, Raymond Johnson, Ron Nicola, and Luke Scavuzzo. Interment was at Wall Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church in Holden.
