They appear in Johnson CO - Jackson TWP in 1860 census with children Henry, Anna (my great great grandmother), John and Sarah. Wife Sarah died on 28 Feb 1866. John remarried quickly on 15 Nov 1866 to Sarah M. Hulse, a much younger woman and moved to Lafayette CO in 1870 census. John died on 30 Dec 1893 and his body was taken back to Johnson CO to be buried next to his first wife. I believe they are buried in Blackwater Cemetary. I am interested in finding information on his first wife's death and any info on their tombstones in Blackwater. I believe his death and removal back to Johnson CO have been mentioned in some book, but I don't know which. Can you help? Thank you. |
