  I am researching the Shepherd family of Augusta/Rockingham County, Va. I have an obituary that was in my grandmother's scrapbook on James M. Shepherd of Warrensburg, Mo.who died June 17th ?. The obit said he left a wife and five children and was in the legal profession. Would appreciate any information about this family and will share what information I have.

  I am researching the family of Jacob Strother Bright, he moved to Johnson County, Post Oak Twp in February 1868 and died there Aug 12, 1871 and he is buried in the Greer Cemetery. 
His wife Lucinda was still living there in 1902. His children that came to Missouri with him were: John R., Elizabeth, Henry Michael, George Washington, Jewhesdia, Alice, Turner Ashby, Eliza (Ida), Cora Lee and James Oscar. 
The only ones there in 1910 was Mary C. Bright. Her husband John R. died in Colorado in March 2, 1902 and Mary remaried W. J. Crutchfield Dec 29, 1910. Mary died in 1918 and is buried in the Greer Cemetery. Would appreciate any information for this family and will share what information I have on this family.

I am looking for any information on Jeremiah and Anna Misner Brooks. They came to Johnson Co. Mo. sometime between 1860 and 1870 from Iowa and Ohio before that. There was a large family approximately 14 children in all. My records show they both died in the Holden area, him in 1874 and her in 1903. Any information will be appreciated. Thank you

  Hi all!!! I am looking for any information, printed preferably, on the Hiram H. Still Family who lived in Kingsville then in Holden. He was town Marshal in 1877 till ???? His daughter Elizabeth Jemima, I believe was married in Holden in 1894 to James W. Thomas, who was from Cass Co. I know who his mother was, Elizabeth A. Ross but his father is a mystery, Wm. J. Thomas. James was raised by his Grandparents when his mother died when he was 18 mos. old. He was raised in Gunn City. But he married the Marshal's daughter. I believe Hiram is buried in Holden Cemetery next to his first wife Jemima Jane Still (Trembly) I have checked the funeral home records and have not found her, but I did find Hiram. Her funeral notice says the family residence was on South Lexington Street. Does anyone know where that is, could the house still be standing? Any answers or help would be very much apprecitated.   Looking for information regarding a birth mother that lived in a "girls home" during her pregnancy and gave birth to a female baby on 23 Dec 1965. The social worker for this adoption was named D'Maggio. There was a six week delay before the adoption, and the Final papers are dated Feb. of 1966.   Can anyone tell me anything at all about Samuel Dobyns/Daubins b 1822 KY, who was living at Columbus, Johnson County, MO for the 1870 Census? How about Catherine Dobyns/Daubins, b 1826, living next door to him, with her children (apparently) Jerome, 18, Larry, 16, Ellen, 12, Price, 12, Beauregard, 7, and Marsh, 5? (Page 423A). These people are not in the Daniel Dobyns of Colonial Virginia book. My reason for asking is that my gr-gr-grandmother, Margaret R. Dobyns (the name is misspelled "Daubins" by the Census taker) was living with them, and I'm not sure why.

  This is not a query, but rather a note for Joyce Chiles. I found, on a Civil War Prison web site, a Findol W. Chiles in Point Lookout Prison in Maryland. There were sutlers receipts for him for 17 Nov 1863 and 10 Dec 1863. This site listed only a fraction of the Confederate soldiers who died there, so do not know if he survived. Fae
