Query:
I don't have a question, just
information. For anyone interested in the surname Bland. There is a
small cemetery named Bland located just off of 'E'on NE 771 in Knob
Noster. My grandparents had a farm at the end of this road and I spent
alot of time there when I was growing up. The cemetery used to be very
visible right on the gravel road (now known as NE 771)just a few yards
north of 'E'. I know at one point thirty or so years ago several of the
graves were being washed away (the land right up to the edge is farmed
on three sides) due to erosion and sometime after that minimal repairs
were made. Today, if you want to find the cemetery, take 'E' east about
a mile past Valley City, at the crest of a small hill NE 771 turns off
North. Just as soon as you turn onto NE 771 look on the left side of
the road (west) and it appears to be just a grown up fence line at the
edge of a farm field. When the farmer has corn planted its impossible
to see. At one time there was a swinging sign post where the cemetery
meets the road that said 'Bland Cemetery'.

My father, James Albert Granger,
was born in Warrensburg, MO in 1891. His father's name was Frank E.
Granger who was born in 1867 and died in 1912. Frank E. Granger is
buried at Valliant, OK. I am trying to find my grandmother's correct
name. It could possibly be Frances Drake Granger or "Fannie." My father
had a brother named George and two sisters named Della and Myrtle. I do
not know if any of his siblings were born in Warrensburg. The family
moved to southeastern Oklahoma in the early 1900's. Any information on
the Granger family would be greatly appreciated.
