The graves of Pulaski and Margaret SARTWELL are marked by a single stone. A low concrete curb surrounds their graves and a somewhat larger area, within which are three unmarked depressions suggesting other graves. I've been told my grandfather, Harry Oscar Bruce SARTWELL, and his brother, Virgil SARTWELL are buried there. Both died in early 1920s. My last record of her is her letter to the War Department dated August 15, 1919 in which she states she lives in Oronoga, Jasper County, MO. She was born in Miller County, MO in 1848 to Elijah and Sophia (???) GUM. She married 1st) Calvin CREEKMORE in Miller County, 2nd) Thomas J. ARCHER in Laclede County, MO, 3rd) Isaiah CLIFTON in Laclede County, MO. On the 1900 Census, Martha Jane, though married, was living in Jasper County with the Porter family and was listed as a domestic servant. I don't know if she is related to them. The state of Missouri states they have no death certificate for her, but I believe she died there. (They also have no death certificate for another great grandmother who died in 1946 in Laclede Co.) It is possible too, that she may be buried near her daughter and son-in-law William B. and Sophia (ARCHER) ROGERS in Greene County, MO. KEITH, JONES My great grandparents, Daniel KEITH and Martha Rose JONES married in Laclede County 16 Aug 1869. They started for Texas about 1885/6 with his brother William Keith and his family. A problem with one of the wagons caused the two families to become separated. Daniel and his family settled in Franklin County, AR and William's family continued on to Caddo, Bryan Co.
