I am researching the ATWOOD line of my family and found reference that my Ggrandfather was born in Laclede Co., Mo. I have very little information on this branch. My Ggrandfather's name was Michael Greenberry Atwood. His father's name was George Washington Atwood, he was born 10/08/1820 and died 01/18/1894. I do not know where he was born or died, nor do I know if there were siblings and I only have initials for his wife (M.J.). I only have initials and birthdates for Michael's siblings (there are nine). Michael is supposed to have been born in Laclede Co., Mo. 05/29/1865 and died in Hill, Co., Tx 03/09/1918. Regarding the article in one of the Laclede Co Historical Society's Cemetery books: Samuel BOUEELS, said to serve in Revolution from SC, lived Callaway Co Mo. and buried in unmarked grave in the Old BOLLES cemetery, Lebanon. this was sent by a Mrs. Hale Houts, 1966. I knew none of the Laclede Co Mo. BOLLES were in Lebanon by 1840. In a mimeographed booklet I did about 1965 I found the following: From Revolution soldiers buried Missouri by Mrs. Hale HOUTS, 1966. Samuel BOLES, Callaway Co Mo b ca 1750 lived 1840 with Thomas BOWLES. Buried in old Pioneer Cemetery on old BOLES (BOWLES) FARM, GRAVE UNMARKED. Served from SC in the Revolution. Sarah Sullivan ERVIN received pension on his service, pg. 119. I have sent to Nationl Archives for copy of his pension. I checked the 1830 census of Callaway Co Mo. there was a Thomas BOWLES, but not in 1840. So where is the Pioneer Cemetery that is listed? perhaps that article does not belong in the Laclede Co Mo. Lou Wyatt Miller, their brother Noah 'Dee' Wyatt, and their mother Mahala Agee Wyatt, who with their father Martin Wesley Wyatt raised their family in Laclede Co in the Springhollow area. My Great-Great-Grandfather John PHEBY received a Federal Land Grant of 159- plus acres in Laclede County in 1868. Variant spellings of the name include PHELY, PHOEBY and PHABY. John PHEBY was born in England in 1820, but info in the Land File says he was naturalized. This likely occurred in the Laclede County Court System sometime between 1863 and 1868, the period during which he migrated from Tennessee to Laclede County. Is there anyone who could do a look up for me please because the Naturalization Record would hopefully provide details of his English origin and parentage. Obviously, I am interested in a copy of the file if it's available and certainly would pay duplication and mailing costs. I tried to check this the last time I was in the States, but Laclede County Circuit Court Records were not yet available in the Missouri Archives. I now live in Mexico and research is very difficult. Most of my Laclede Co. ancestors BOLLES, BREEDLOVE, LOWERY are buried in the Old BOLLES Cemtery. I have several Cemetery books printed by Laclede Co. Genealogical Society, today I read it over re the Old BOLLES Cemetery and I am confused. Some of the people are spelled correctly BOLLES. My grgrandfather and grgrgrandfather, Albert BOLLES and Reuben BOLLES are spelled BOUEELS. A cousin told me years ago that the person who carved the stones made a mistake. However, there is also listed: Samuel BOUEELS, RW vet, b ca 1750 d 1840, lived Calloway Co., served SC, Rev. War Records..Data Mrs. Hale HOUTS, 1966, living in BOUEELS home when he died. This cemetery on the Ruben T. BOUEELS homestead, at the bottom of the page: 20 Aug 1878 deed by A.E. BOWLES and susan, his wife (Susannah LOWERY) deeded to Judges FAULKNER, RUPARD, WARREN of Co Ct and their successors. Now as far as I know the BOLLES were not in Laclede Co by 1840. Thomas and Cinderilla BREEDLOVE LOWERY were in the area by ca 1836, but Reuben BOLLES didnt go there till ca 1856, he was in Warren Co Ky, 1840, 1850 in Montgomery Co Il. I have a copy of a letter from him to my ggrandmother from Lebanon dated June 27, year unknown. His Company is stationed in Lebanon, waitng for the Irish Brigade at the time of writing. Looking for information on Elma Ballard that married Thomas Hunt in Laclede Co, MO. They appeared on the 1900 census living as man and wife in the household of Elma's father-James Ballard. Also listed were Elma's mother Allace and siblings Ella, James E, Ethel, Miller, Nellie, Homer and Allace's father Harvey Wright. Elma was born in 1881 and was married in 1898. Family stories say that she moved from Laclede Co to somewhere in Oklahoma. Does anyone have knowledge of this family? Thanks

Info on Frank W. Luby and Mary Bridget Ryan LUBY lived in Lebanon until death in 1945/46 at what was called the old HB Clark house on Wasington St was by a stream but don`t know location. He was my greatgrandfather on my mothers side.

INGALLS, WARNER
Searching for descendants of Parker INGALLS and Eliza ROSZELL who were marrried in Ripley Co., IN on 17 Dec. 1838. Their children supposedly moved to Laclede Co., MO. Their children were: 1). Perry C. INGALLS b. 1839/40; 2) Mary Jane INGALLS b. 1840/1841; 3) Elizabeth INGALLS b. 1843/44 married William J. WARNER on 25 Sept. 1862 in Ripley Co., IN; 4) Parker N. INGALLS b. 27 Oct. 1846;and 5) Josephine, Parker's twin. Have info on the sons; it's probably one of the daughters who moved to Laclede Co. Have much info to share.

BOLLES, Reuben b ca 1805, married Susan LOWERY, 1829, Warren Co Ky, by 1856 Lebanon, Laclede co. Mo. Susan was daughter of William and Sarah LOWERY, from NC to Warren co Ky. Need Sarah's maiden name. Albert son of Reuben BOLLES married 1856 in Lebanon, Susannah LOWERY, dau of Thomas and Cinderilla BREEDLOVE LOWERY, Thomas also son of William and Sarah LOWERY. Winny LOWERY widow of George WOOD died Laclede Co 1882. Reuben's dau Minerva Jane married an Atchley. Many other Laclede co. connections. Many BOLLES researchers believe Reuben was born in Ct however, a Pleasant BOWLES signed his marriage bond, both Pleasant and Reuben said they were born in VA.

I am looking for information on my ancestor, John EGAN. He was born 24 June 1828 in Ireland. The information I have has his place of death as Laclede County. He was married to Hannah A. KIETH born 2 Jan 1834 in Ireland. Upon John Egan's death, she married Joseph COLLINS. Her place of death is also Laclede County. Their son, Michael William EGAN, was born in Augusta, Maine 2 June 1853. He married Malinda Caroline TYRE. She was born in Laclede County. They are buried in the Mt. Carney Cemetery at Competition, Mo.

CARROLL, MILL, SMITH, FITZGERALD, THOMAS, PIERCY
JOHN C and MALINDA C CARROLL had 14 children, the last 9 born in Lebanon between 1860 and 1883. Sarah, James, William, Mary, John, Ida, Maud, Colonel, Oma, Tinnie, Joseph, J. Etta, Linda May, and Charlie. Four children died there supposedly, no records found as yet. William CARROLL married Mary Ann SMITH in 1885 in Lebanon. Mary Ann's parents were William B SMITH and Eglentine FITZGERALD. William B. SMITH'S parents were William H. SMITH and Lucy W. PIERCY. Eglentine's parents were Joseph FITZGERALD and Nancy THOMAS. My grandmother was Stella CARROLL b in Lebanon in 1889/90. She married Bert MILLS at some point.. I have found no records anywhere of any Bert MILLS who could have been my grandfather. My Bert supposedly had a brother named Charlie who died in either Lebanon or Joplin in 1968 or 70. I have searched for years with no evidence that Bert MILLS ever existed. Bert supposedly laid the first gas lines into the state of OK and died of pneumonia about 1908 or 09. No death or obit records either. I did find a Charlie Mills who died in Lebanon the right time, but according to his heirs, he had no brother Bert. Any ideas on finding out who my grandfather was would be great. I'd also like to connect to someone researching the other names. I have info to share on many of the families. Surely with such a large family of Carroll's there is someone left besides me??

Any help especially on Reuben Bolles, Thomas and Susannah Lowery's parents were William and Sarah Lowery who died Warren Co Ky. Would like maiden name of Sarah Lowery, they were probably married in NC shortly before 1790.

I am looking for information on my ancestors: John Albert POND, born 1833 in Barlow, Ohio. He was a teacher in Laclede Co. in 1856. He also served in the Civil War. He died in 1910 in Lebanon and is buried in the McGinnis Cemetary. I would like any information as to his parents. His wife is Nancy Jane MASON. She was born in Missouri, in either Greene County or Christian County. Her parents are from Tennessee. She is also buried in the McGinnis Cemetery.

Please help me locate some sort of paper trail for GEORGE ARTHUR TAYLOR who was supposed to be living in Laclede Co., Mo. between 1878 and 1993. His wife was Alcie/Alsy/Alsea J. TUTNER. Their 1st child was Della Lauvina Taylor b. Aug 20, 1878 born in Laclede Co.; Sara Cordelia Taylor b. 1880 (died); Frances Caroline Taylor Jan 22 1882; Myrlta Alta b. 1884; John Franklin Taylor b. Apr. 11 1886 (died); T. Harris Taylor b. 1888; J. M. Taylor b. 1891 (died); Clarence Arthur Taylor b. Jan 1893. All children were born in Laclede Co., Mo. They all say Lebanon. I want to know who George and Alcie J.'s parents were. They were both born in Tenn. Alsea J. stated in the 1900 Ark. census that she was born in Mar 1851 in Tn. She says her father and mother were born in Tn. I know that George was shot in a fight by J. H. Gentry in Fulton Co. Ark in 1895. I have the newspaper account of the trial of Mr. Gentry. George was working for the railroad as an agent when he was shot. He had lived in Arkansas about a year. Can anyone help me locate this family during the 14 or more years they lived there. I'll share with descendants.
