Pierce City Leader-Journal, Jul 21, 1927:
Mrs. Katherine Enright, a pioneer resident of Peirce City, died at her home Sunday
afternoon, July 17, 1927. Mrs. Enright was 90 years old. Her death was attributed
to heart disease and infirmities of her age.
Katherine Donovan Enright was born Jun 17, 1837, in County Cork, Lancaster,
Ireland, being at the time of her death 90 years and one month
At the age of sixteen she was married to David Enright. To this union eleven children
were born; John, Con, Mike, Tom, Norah, Jerry, Kate, Dave, Dan, Hannah and Charles.
In 1862 they came to Pennsylvania and resided there for a number of years, later coming
to Missouri where Mr. Enright died in September, 1887.
The only surviving children are John Enright, living in Arizona, Mrs. Nora Benzen, Joplin,
Mrs. Hannah Stotts, Miller, Mo., Dave Enright, Chicago, IL., and Con Enright, Wichita, KS.
21 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held at St. Patrick's Church Tuesday morning 7-19-1927, conducted by
Rev. Father Kelly with interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
1910 census , residing on Commercial St., Pierce City, reports nine children still alive.
