OGAN, Irving historical pioneer of Linn County. Searching for any and all
information on Irving OGAN, siblings and descendants. Irving was the 3rd
son of John and Ann OGAN, other children were Alexander, William, Jane,
Ann, John, James, Parthenia, and Mary. The OGANs came to Missouri ca
1812-1815 from Madison Co. KY, settling first in Boone County. Irving
married Rebecca Jones in Boone Co. in 1837. They moved on to Linn County
and raised at least 11 children; Lucy, John, William, Ransom, James,
Gilpin, Thomas, Mary, Robert, Emmitt and Andrew Gish, my husband´s
greatgrandfather.

According to the Bureau of Land Management, William BRIMER received land in
Linn Co. (1819). Jesse Brimer, William´s father, was Warrantee. I have read
the application for this land. How would I go about finding out if this
William Brimer is the same person as William S. Brimer who lived by 1824 in

I am looking for information on Jerusha TOOLEY b. 27 July 1840 and
d. 29 June 1908. I would like to know who her parents and siblings
are. She married James McCLINTICK in Linn Co. on 23 Feb. 1857. They had
several children; Eliza Jane, James W., John Edward, Minnie, Charles S.,
Elizabeth, and Oliver Leonard.
I am trying to date a cabinet card photograph with a photographer´s
stamp by A.O. HOUGE, Browning, MO. Although the photo seems to be from
1871-1875, we can not find an A. O. Houge listed in the census records
for 1860, 1870, 1880, 1900, or 1910! We have also checked the Missouri
Gazeteers from this period without sucess. Any help would be appreciated.
I am looking for the parents of Melvina PUTNMAN who was born in So.
Salem Twsp, Linn Co. MO., in 1849. Her father's name was William
PUTNMAN. Her mother was Sarah HEAD. I have no names of siblings and no
dates for the parents. Melvina married George Walter LINHART in Linn
Co. in 1865. They had one child, Edward who was also born in Linn Co.,
in 1866. Sometime between 1866 and 1869 they moved to Denver, Colorado.

Looking for information on the SENSINTAFFAR family. Jacob SENSINTAFFAR
moved to Linn Co, MO in 1837. His wife was Nellie Wilson SENSINTAFFAR
and children were John, Mary, Elizabeth and Jane. Jacob and family
members settled on adjoining farms 3 miles SE of Ladede, Mo. There is a
SENSINTAFFER family cemetery on the farm where Jacob and family memebers

Am looking for the decendents of Joseph AUBERY or AUBREY and Mary Prewitt.
Ther were 8 children born to them that we know of Octavia, William, Charlot,
Sarah, John, Thomas, Irvin ( my great grandfather) and Polly A. They moved to
Linn Co in about 1840. Irvin married a Mary Kennedy in 1865 after the Civil

Searching for information on William Thomas HOPPER of Linn county in the
1880s. He married Lovenda Adeline SMITH around 1884-1885 and they had child
Vera Jane HOPPER who married a Clarence L. GILMERE. Would like to confirm
dates for William and Lovenda. Is Wm. buried in Meadville? I have a DOD of
around 1885 but do not think that is accurate. Who were Lovenda's parents.?
Gilbert EDWARDS and wife Elizabeth lived in Linn county near Browning. They
were in their 80s for the 1900 census. Gilbert was born Feb 1812. Would like
to know date of death and where buried. Elizabeth must be his second wife as
he had wife Rachel in 1870 living in Jefferson twp. When did she die and
where is she buried? She was 55 in 1870.

moved to Seward Co. KS and d there circa 1920. I have probable ancestry
info for James BOTTS back to Joshua BOTTS b 1740-50/VA but nothing on

I am looking for a TERRELL family who lived there back in the
1870's. The father's name was William M. Terrell and his wifes name was
Margaret Ann DOAK. They moved there after 1870 and before Nov. 1871. One
of their sons were born in Linn County on the 16 of Nov. 1871; his name was
Josiah (Cy or Silas) TERRELL. Does any one have any information on these
families and those who connect to them?
Samuel C. GARDNER was born July 1846 in W. VA. He married Abigail Ellen
Phillips in Illinois. They arrived in Linn County in 1870. Their daughter
Mary Lavinia was my g- grandmother.
They show as living in Marceline in 1898-1820 census.
Any help would be appreciated.
Charles B LANDRAM/LANDRUM was born 6/24/1847 and lived in Brookfield, MO. He fought in the civil war, was married to Della Vandivar/Vandiver? She was born 10/26/1859 and died 5/8/1937 and died at the confederate home in Higginsville, and is
buried there at the home.
Records say Charles was in the civil war, and fought in Company B William
Regiment and Shelby Brigade, and was at Ft Smith Hospital when the war
ended. Is there a cemetary in the area, named Ham? or Horm, in the
Brookfield, MO area or Linn county? Where did Charles come from? He had
three sons, Lynn, E.W.( Brookfield) and Frank, my grandfather; the children
were born in Salisbury. Frank later moved to Buffalo, NY and married my
grandmother.

John S. DAVIS moved to Marceline in 1888. He owned and operated the Davis
Meat Market on Kansas City. Born in Bellair, Belmont County 29 September,
1836; married Ruth Bennett WHITE at Bellaire 14 July 1859. They had 10
children, seven who grew to adulthood. They were:

NESTER, Thomas Jackson was born in Linn Co. Mo on May 1, 1869. He married a
Martha Frances BYLER from Macon Co. and they had 8 children, many of them
born in Great Bend, Kansas. I am looking for any info on the NESTER or
BYLER lines as I do not have any info on the parents of either of these
people.

Salem (1801- ) came to Linn as a widower with seven children, married
Nancy Palmer a widow, in 1853, they had two children Laura TROW and Hiram
Thomas TROW, were divorced in 1857. Nancy remarried a Milton TATE. I am
