SURNAMES: ALEN/ALLEN, HALE, McCOY, THORPE

Seeking information on Joel McCoy, born ca. 1818, KY; died Decembeer 1854, Marion County, MO; married 1842, Martion County, to Susan E. Thorpe. Joel and Susan had daughters:

Mary A. McCoy, born ca. 1843

Henrietta J. McCoy, born ca. 1846

Sarah E. McCoy, born ca. 1848

Frances Thorpe McCoy, born January 1855.

After Joel's death, Susan apparently gave Frances to a couple who were passing through Marion County on their way home to New York. I believe the family was James K. and Elsie B. Hale. In 1870, this family is living in Sullivan County, MO. In 1877, Fannie Hale (aka Frances Thorpe) married Archibald Standifer in Linn County, MO. In the 1890s, Frances' mother, Susan (Thorpe) McCoy, located her daughter in Norman, OK. They corresponded for several years. In her bible, Frances wrote that her mother, Susan Alen, died in 1908. Would like to find descendants of Frances' sisters and where and who her mother married after Joel's death. Thank you, Sharron.
