LIBERTY CEMETERY, MERCER COUNTY, MO

Liberty Cemetery is located in the west-central portion of Lindsey Township, approximately five miles northeast of Cainsville, Missouri. It is located approximately 1/4 mile west of blacktop Route FF and is surrounded by private property. There is a sign at the blacktop, and the cemetery is accessable by a gate and a mowed lane. Although the cemetery is very old and appears to have been neglected in years past, someone is now (2003) keeping it mowed and accessable. There are indications of other lost burials in the cemetery, and several stones are down, broken and/or worn to the point of being unreadable. This survey was conducted by Phil & Kathi Stewart on March 23, 2003.
