Payne Cemetery is located on the south edge of section 23 of Madison Township, Mercer County, less than two miles north of the village of Modena. From Princeton, go four-and-a-half miles west on Highway 136 to Route A. Turn left (south) and go four miles south to the fourth gravel road to the left (east). The road will turn to the left (north) at approximately 1/4 mile and will go up a hill to the cemetery. The road dead-ends at the cemetery gate. The cemetery is well maintained and remains in periodic use.
