SWAN CEMETERY, MERCER COUNTY, MO

Swan Cemetery is located at the Otterbein Church, south of Ravanna, Missouri, in Ravanna Township. From Ravanna, go three miles south on Route C. The church and cemetery are on the right (west) side of the road.

A sign at the church states: "Otterbein U. B. Church was organized at the Keith School and was later held in a new church that was built in 1892. It was located south of here on the J. M. Deyoe farm at the first crossroads on the northeast side. In the year 1898, the building was moved here on land given by Jessie Swan. The first Trustees were Mont Rowland, Hiram Hunter and General Widner. The carpenters were 41 days building the church. Mrs J. M. Deyoe boarded the carpenters and raised the money for the seating. Some of the early families were the Deyoes, Orndorffs, Wyatts, Gannons, Jones, Swans, Linns, Widners and Rowlands. Erected by the Mercer County Historical Society October 15, 1984."
