James Sylvester Cunningham

James S. Cunningham


Compatriot Cunningham is a retired Vice-President and Secretary Treasurer of MFA Oil in Columbia, MO. He served in WW II and the Korean War as a U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer. He is a life member of the American Legion & VFW and other naval veteran's associations. He is a Mason and a Shriner and an Odd Fellow. He belongs to the SCV, SUV, Descendants of the Mexican War, and the Society of the War of 1812. He serves as Chaplain of the Chapter. He is married to DAR member, Alva Jane Sappington Cunningham. His patriot ancestor is William Nash. Both the Cunninghams are recognized as members of "Missoouri First Families", by being being descended from a resident of the Missouri Territory before 10 AUG 1821.
