J. Wayne Merrill

Compatriot Merrill serves as MOSSAR Chaplain and Color Guard and is a Past President of the MGC Chapter. Wayne retired from Boone County National Bank, Columbia, MO, in September, 2007. He served several years on the board of directors of The American Safe Deposit Association and two terms as it's president. He has served as pastor of the Wooldridge Baptist Church, Wooldridge, MO, since January, 1979.
Wayne was one of the founders of the Missouri State Genealogical Association in 1981, serving on the board of directors and was the first editor of the Missouri State Genealogical Association Journal. He is a life member of the American Hemerocallis Society and is a past Regional Vice President, serving Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma. He is a hybridizer of Hemerocallis and a former garden judge for the society. He also holds memberships in the American Iris Society and the Siberian Iris Society. He is a member of the Choral Union of the University of Missouri. In 1976, he and Pat sang in the one thousand voice choir for the bicentennial celebration at the National Cathedral in Washington, D. C.
Wayne is married to Patricia Ann (Charles) Merrill. He and Pat have two married daughters.
Wayne's patriot ancestor is John Sidebottom.
