Russell Frederick DeVenney Jr.

Russ


Compatriot DeVenney served as M. Graham Clark Chapter President in 2006-2007, S.A.R. Missouri State President 2008-09, and MOSSAR National Trustee 2009-2010.

He serves on a number of MOSSAR and NSSAR committees; including Vice Chairman of the NSSAR C.A.R. Liaison, NSSAR DAR Liaison and Veterans Committees. He is the NSSAR liaison to the Truman VA Hospital. He also serves on the NSSAR Retention / Reinstatement Committee, 2013 National Congress Planning Committee and Color Guard Committee. He is a life member of the S.A.R. and a major contributor to S.A.R charities. He has received the following S.A.R. medals: Patriot, State Medal of Distinguished Service, Meritorious Service (National, State & Chapter), Silver and Bronze Good Citizenship, Silver C.A.R., Liberty w/Oak Leafs, Service to Veterans, Silver & Bronze Color Guard and the Silver Council of State Presidents. Russell has dual membership with the Maryland, West Virginia, and Ohio Societies.

Russell's wife, Laura Helen Hunter DeVenney, retired a career nurse at the Harry S. Truman V.A. Hospital, is a D.A.R. member and President of the MOSSAR Ladies Auxiliary. The DeVenney’s have 2 D.A.R. daughters, 2 S.A.R. sons, and 11 grandchildren who are life members of the C.A.R. Russell serves as the Senior Society President of the Col. Hugh Crockett C.A.R. Society and Laura serves as the Senior Society President of the Corps of Discovery C.A.R. Society.

Russell retired after over 30 years as an office manager in the Mechanical Contracting Industry. He remains active in the Sons of Union Veterans and was the Organizing President of the War of 1812 in the State of Missouri. He is a Master Mason, a 32nd degree KCCH Scottish Rite and York Rite Mason.
